A Nice Evening at Moroso with the 420 Stroker
Well, the weather wasn't as cool nor dry as hoped for (low 70's/high 60's with 89% humidity), but I still came back with my best times so far both NA and N2O.
Here is the NA slip (on top, the right lane was a C6 Vette 6spd):
Here are two N2O slips (one has my best ET and the other one is my best 60' and MPH)
Here is a video from an early N2O run that night against a really nice guy in a Marauder S/C (not exactly quality zoom, but at least the burnout is worth watching, even if just for the sound of that bodacious motor):
I gotta tell ya, I love to hear that beast go through the gears. With the 305/45/18 Nittos from our buds at tByrne, I was getting some improvement on the 60' times and because they are as tall as the stock F1's, I was able to stay in 3rd gear through the traps (with extended shift points and a 6700 rev limit).
I'm able to drop the hammer at the line on motor only and the Nitto's hook. With the N2O on at the line, I still have to roll on the gas: too much and they break loose, not enough and I'm slow to 60'. I guess that's what makes it fun. (Maybe I should launch NA, hook, then spray? Ya think?)
I'm short shifting the 1-2 and 2-3 to stay in the peak torque as much as possible, and I may play with that some to see how it affects ET and MPH.
Thanks again to Scott & Stu at the Hemi Shop; Johan at DiabloSport; Frank at the Drive Shaft Shop, my local Crew Chief/Mechanic Jim and my other local Mechanic Lopez for making this fun possible/enoyable!
