    Now I'm Ready to Race!

Went racing last weekend with new DSS hardened axles thinking I was gonna tear things up and make some new bests, but the car totally overpowered the Nittos and the available track prep, I instead ran a bunch of crappy 12.90s and 12.80s on 2.1 60fts and still managed 110-111 trap speeds.

So, I'd been putting this off awhile, but after much peer pressure and a general disatisfaction with the hook up, or lack there of, I bought these new babies

    275-40-17 Hoosiers HOO-17330 DRs
    17inch American Racing Wheels 198-7992

Total package, 46lbs per wheel, 25.7 in diameter so there is some gearing advantage in addition to the light weight. Stock 20s and the Nitto 555s I've been running with Voxx wheels were 67 lbs.

Final added benefit, they fit in the trunk so much better now then a 28.3" diameter package.

Looks like the ticket! Are they actually the 275-40-17's? I'm already thinking the same thing myself after some 2.35-2.50 60ft. times at E-town last week on 285-35-18 nitto's. but nobody was really getting much traction. Those will work better for ya

Nice! This is what i'm leaning toward in the near future. Please post some pixs with them on your car. Also, how much was this set up out the door?

Very cool! Silly question though, why only a 245??? Is that the biggest 17 they make?

Thats 10 inches of sweet ass tire you have there Robert. You aren't going to believe the difference in gearing those tires are going to give you. I can't wait to see it run this Sunday.

I remember last year, we were laughed at for using those tires, now everyone seems to be buying them. You will love the tires, I cant wait to see your new times.

Yeah well they did good. 12.24 @ 113.58 mph and only on a 1.78 60ft. Gotta work on the launch and get those 60s down and I'll approach the 11s on motor eventually.

Very nice Robert, big congrats man. Your smokeshows would have put John Force to shame. I had Hoosier envy my friend.
