    New gen M3 vs. SRT8?

Just looking for some thoughts on how a mildly modded SRT8 Charger will do Vs. the new M3’s (E90 I think) 2008-09.
I had a run in with one the other night from about 110 km/hr to 220ish I put about a bus length on him before we had to shut down.
From a stop though I am seeing 4.5 seconds 0-60 stock for them so I think it may be a lot of catch-up to do. Anyone here had a go with one?

    interesting

That's exactly the opposite of what you would expect from a nearly 9000 rpm small v-8.

Great kill. I bet he was pissed.

BTW, I have laid down a 4.3x repeatedly in my car with practice.

Opposite? I would think the 6.1 would have a lot more top end then a 4.0 liter or whatever it is they use?

From some feedback on another forum most think the M gets 1-2 cars from a stop, and about the opposite from a roll.

I’m looking for actual road experience though. No one here had a go with one yet from a stop?

It's a very hi revving low torque engine. It will do better at a roll on than a dig.

Ask for 55-60 start. That's the sweet spot.

Good point on the low torque possibly affecting the get up and go off the line – our cars are not exactly the best out of the hole either though but that’s more to do with gearing and the slight overweight issue
Still though, the book 0-60 on them is 4.5’s where we are in around 4.9’s and from my experience that can be a substantial difference. Of course with practice and a few aftermarket toys I can likely get close to the 4.5 range on mine now anyways.
