If you could get a new Hoosier Drag Radial What Size would you like?

There is a possibility of a new Hoosier tire coming. With all the new gear options what size would you like to see? These will be on a 17" rim.Would you prefer a slick or a drag radial?Would you commit to the tire size you choose if it becomes a reality?Remember before voting to consider if you race in a street tire class or not.

Nice post Erik. I'll wait until all the numbers are thrown around with each gear ratio to see what would be best as far as tire height. Is this something you're setting up as a possible group buy?

Raises Hand for a slick. 28 inch or taller preferred. Since some of us have gone to custom rim ranging from 9.5 inch to 10.5 inches.

well with my 3.23's in I feel the 28" slick would work out great for me..... I might even like a 29" with a tall gear as well... too many options that we dont know about at this moment. Either way I'de love to have a slick b/c of launching techs

so i guess a 23" tire 18" wide is out of the question

Great topic erik, i suspect with all the taller gears out now we'll get some serious interest on 28-30"

I would definitely prefer a slick. I have their drag radials now and they hook great, but they don't last very long. A slick would last a little longer. Either 27 or 28 inches would work for me.

what kind of rim width are we talking here?
i voted 27 drag radial because with a 323 its the best size for most 5.7 cars
yea yea, i know the 3.23 story.. but the 3.55 still just doesnt cut it even with a 29" tire... so one day

28in in either slick or drag radial on 17in rim sounds like good all around size to me.

I like 27" radial as with 3.06 gears I'll not be shifting into 4th just before the line.
As to radial or slick, well I've only run the radial so I'm not really sure of the performance difference.
At my experience level, I want something that is reasonably stable at the big end of the track.

Good post, I have a questoins for you guys, A slick or a DR. What is the main difference? I have heard that with a slick its easyer on the rear end stuff. more sidewall flex, is this true? Not to thread jack so sorry if I am, I was looking at the MT ET Streets non radial.

Also to add to my post, I do LOVE the Hoosier. I would go with a 26"

To answer your previous post the drag radial is a DOT approved tire and can be run in street tire classes......as far as this one they already make a 26.The question lies to whether there is enough interest to get a different size made.
