Help a Noob out?

Ok so Saturday I'm plaining to make my first trip out to the drag strip. I know that I'm not the best thing to happen to drag racing since the wheel so I'll listen gratefully to any advice given, no mater how basic. (Yes I know, skinny petal to the floor) I'm an AWD and a V6 at that so traction shouldn't be any issue so I would imagine that this will be more or less a point and shoot kinda thing. Any SXT guys out there have any input for launching? The temperature here is supposed to be in the 20's so the DA should be below sealevel which makes me optimistic for some good ET's,

well, for a V6 any way!

-Talk to as many guys at the track as you can and ask as many question as you can think of. Most guys will go out of their way to help.
-Turn your engine off if you need to wait a long time in the staging lanes.
-Drive around the water,not through it, and wait for the other car to smoke the tires. You only want to go through the water if your going to smoke your tires, and you are not.
-Pull up to the tree with the other car and wait at the stage light for your opponent to turn on his stage light too. This is etiquette.
-Inch forward until you just break your start light for a "shallow stage". This is so you get maximum momentum when you launch.
-For your first few tries leave after the second yellow has lit but before the third. Your reaction time will be slow at first and with your AWD V6 you won't set any records in that first foot leaving the second beam.
-Don't worry if you "red light" just keep the pedal to the metal. You can learn from your time slips just the same.
-If possible keep making successive runs even if your engine is hot and your ETs aren't their best. If you can do a number of launches in quick succession it will really help your reaction time and hone cutting a great light. Aim for .05 reaction time. Guys that practice a lot can cut .01-.02 lights all day when using a full tree.
