Help with DR 60'
Ok so I just got my new DR's in a few days ago so thought I would take em to the track to see how they did. Well let me tell you I didn't see much. I am in Texas now so last night was still kinda warm (83 degrees @ 9pm) and didn't expect to see great pass numbers but I wanted to try and improve on my 60'. Here is what happened.
My first run was at a conservitive 22psi. They were new tires so I heated them up quite a bit. I ran a 2.3 60'. I let it cool off fro about 30 min and tried it again still at 22psi. I pulled a 2.2 60'. So now a little pissed I again let it cool for about 30 min and took a stab at it and dropped them to 18psi. This time when I did my burnout they tried to grab and it felt a lot better. So I figure I will see some improvement. Which I did all the way down to a 2.1. Now by this time the track was to close soon so I decided to let try it one more time after about only 15 min cool down because I felt like I had waited to long to get to WOT. So back to the lanes I went this time like the rest was only a 2.1 and I was in it hard.
Now the reason I am so iritaded is that on OEM narrow wheels. My best run was 13.90 with a 2.0 60'. Last night the best I could muster was a 14.02 with a my last 2.1 60' and the temp had dropped to 74 degrees. So I am desperate what else can I try because I have heard all about how more grip will help with the take off and improve over all performance and the smaller tire ups the gear ratio blah blah blah and so on. Am I missing something or should I just keep adding power and hope that it improves?
My mods so far are very basic. I have Magnaflow catback, aFe stage II intake, 180 Jet thermostat, and a Diablo predator with 93 CAI tune.
