First time at Lebanon Valley Dragway

I had a great time up there last night. Met some new folks at the mid week "street racing" event. Quite a few LX's out and about so we went recruiting. srt-hardware was tearing it up and making people cry with his blown 300 (that sounds rediculous btw) as he went bracket after bracket running times within hundredths of each other. hemi nick was stepping up with the big dogs and trapping 115+ on street tires doing smoke shows through first and second. He ran a solid low 12 but kept having to get out of it with the back end going crazy. Mid week racing doesn't get any track prep so the line was horrible. I spun like a bastard off the line for a bunch of 2.0x 60 ft's on my 91 tune with a few 12.9x and 13.0x at ~109mph runs. The air cooled down quite a bit so i decided to load up the 93 CAI tune and let the car rip... Smoke show. I left a little too hard and had it in dyno mode so i blew away first and mostly lit second. I watched a hunk of crap C4 vette run away and decided to just stay in it. I think i layed a strip about an 1/8th mile of the track (probably with 1 wheel) before i downshifted back to second and took off again for my first 15 second pass!!! If any of you new guys read this it was great meeting you and we'll look forward to at least one or 2 of you coming down to E-Town this weekend.

So you made it home too, That's the real race right there, the 2+hour drive back home....Man, what a great time. Never ran at the strip at dark before, sure beat the runs during sunset(my first time racing with my shades and car blinders down too, sun was bright) My buddy with the stang offically got the car needle in his arm. Already asking about chips, superchargers, cam ,ect,....We'll be heading back up real soon. I think if I go back on a weds. I'll put some drag radials in the trunk(won't use them, they will be there only for extra weight and moral support)..Anywho, got to head to work, to be continued...........

oh, almost forgot i nearly totaled my car last night driving home on the mass pike! Cruise was set at 72 and with no one behind me i hung in the left lane after passing someone. Slightly zoned out on the late night drive home i see my headlights suddenly reflect on something running across the highway so i swerve a few feet left and just missed a full grown deer that ran in front of me. If i was in the right lane i would not have see him in time and would have hit him dead on in an unlit stretch of wilderness and probably have been left down in a ditch away from the road. Never hurts to be a little lucky!

well in all reality, you wouldn't have gotten a call... The phone with your number died! I took my sleeve to my number this morning and the dew took care of that window sticker.

Would you like me to have a funeral for your phone? ...I forgot to tell you last nite about one of my runs. I been having a problem with "ghost riding" with my car(Iguess it's something that could happen with boosted engines, You step off the gas but ur car keeps going, ). So for my runs last nite, i let off the gas a bit before crossing the finish line. Thank god cause on my second run she kept going. Then I remembered someone saying if you upshift when this happens it kinda "unsticks the gas" if you will. If it wasnt for that problem, I would of let you take a crack at getting my car off the line..

what your referring to is called Surging. It can definitely be tuned for and would be very important in your type of setup. You'd be unable to peddle through a tough launch if your car powers up on it's own after you let off the gas.

I should have gone, just had to move too early today. The kids went with the supercharged M3s. I haven't heard how they did, but they had low expectations with some rat tires on.
