Cool A few Pics from the Dirty Mo Last Thursday

So MadCharger and I met up at the Dirty Mo (Mooresville Dragway) last Thursday to make some passes.

The Dirty Mo is a 1/8 mile track in the heart of Nascar's hometown, so there where plenty of track ready cars there as well as some not so modified cars. I was shooting for the 8s but missed the mark by a bit. My best time was a 9.16 @ 78.9 mph. That was my first run too. I had trouble launching, tons of wheel spin, which was all my fault. I got home and re-read the launching a 4400lbs whale thread and I was all over the throttle, way too early. I'll fix that this week.

Nick did well and was in the 7s with his Charger. That car is fast. He ran consistantly all night. The DA was 2600 (I think) so all in all not bad passes. We were the only 2 LXs out there running. The track guys gave me props when I pulled up in the Magnum, which felt good.

I ate up a tricked out Honda, a Mustang and got beat by Nick. I ran against a Lightning, but I had my worst launch and spun through 1st and most of 2nd for a horrible 10 (WTF? ). I came back after that to eat up the Mustang.

I didn't snap a ton of pics, but here's a few. I will be going back up there this week if I can get my wife to drive Mac to lacrosse practice.

    Cheers,
    Burleson

I dig my local 1/8 mile track. Until I got my sidewinder I was stuck on 9.0 to 9.1.

Now I am 8.4-8.5 right at 83 mph.

Something about 4 door wagon in the 6s I like

I wish I had ANY type of track close to me. The closest 1/4 mile is a solid 2 hrs and 1/8 mile is 1.5 hrs. Makes it hard to get much practice.
BTW...I know Nicks fast. I've lined up with him.

hmmmmmm sidewinder... oh a cam just makes me drool...

I like the atmosphere of the Dirty Mo. Lots of rednecks and just people hangin' out.

I didn't catch any attitude from anyone out there.

The lanes move pretty fast and the track guys seem to know what they're doing. (way more water in the box than at zMax, but I'm on stock tires so I'm not hitting the boxes.)

What is that Jim zMax? lol. Darlington I guess for you huh? We'll have to meet up there.

I think the racing bug has officially bitten me. Still want to get some road action in, but hey I can do both it's a utility vehicle.

I think a few of us are gonna hit it this summer.

We'll post a thread and try and get a group to go.
