Carbon Driveshaft FTW....HUGE thanks to DSS and Paramount, 10.40@130 New Record

What can I say, After a slight issue on the dyno with my new aluminum eng I was glad to have the Iron bullet still in the car. Side-tracked and way behind the 8 ball I changed the oil and did a PRE-TRIP wed night before the rental with the help of Novawagonmaster. During the Pre-trip we Unwrapped a new 1 piece carbon Driveshaft from DSS that Bill brought up the day before. Always looking for ET We figured why not. This Piece is OUTSTANDING!!!!! Car has never been so smooth and the 22 lbs of rotating weight savings really makes lets teh car pull super hard through the middle. The slip tells the story Bill I can promise you im NOT giving it back Thanks to all the sponsors, My crew at Arrington and Most of all our customers. I love being at these events its a real Honor!!
    Thanks
    A.J.

Wow this is a fantastic run AJ and thanks for doing the testing for us. If it can withstand the torque of your monster Mopar, that is one good driveshaft.

Question... Do you need to keep a DS loop when go to CF??

If you saw what my underneath looked like WITH a loop when mine broke last week; you'd see why those without a loop take the chance. 2 broken trans. monts minimal floorboard damage and a now egg shaped loop. would have been much worse without.

Thanks. I was thinking that the carbon fiber would come apart quickly when/if it were to fail. I'll keep the loop and look to cut weight elsewhere when I go to CF.

Was yours a DSS carbon fiber unit and where did it fail?

carbon fiber shafts are designed to "shatter" on impact......but it will still cause considerable damage...just not as much as an aluminum or even steel.
