About LinkBacksI was in the staging lanes with Rob, Torred#1179 when we witness the wreck. We had a down the track view....was very scary. I think he trapped 136mph with a 8.36 ET.
Can't get my volume to work on this thread...but here you go...not the BEST filming, but found it on line.

I think he was actually catching a bad hook as he hit 3rd gear....he was still pulling hard when it went awry.
There were tons of cameras going on Saturday. A couple clubs/groups were out there trying to set new records. I'm sure a better filming will arise.

Oh... didn't know he was still pulling, hard to tell. Yeah, that's just shoddy luck then, looks like he did everything he could to try to straighten it out. Usually if you're gonna bust it sideways you do it on 1st or 2nd, not that far down the lane. So was he OK??? I'm assuming the car didn't fare too well...

Just got an email from the track owner....he did in fact drive the car off the track himself. got his trailer...loaded the car and headed home.

Glad hes ok,We had a guy die yestwerday at the Citrus nationals at Moroso Motor sports park.He was in a jet funny car.Shoots failed to open.I think ets speed was about 200mph.He trapped 266mph..See if i can find a link somwhere.
