The aux tank holds 110 gallons and my OEM tank holds 38. I think that gives me a fuel range of something north of 2300 miles, maybe a bit more. My wifey was very impressed with the cost of my first fillup!
In addition to the locks, I have a GE MiniGun mounted through a firing port in the garage with a motion sensor and IR fire control for security.

Not quite sure how this works... so when you run out of fuel you take the gas spout shown in the pic and fill up your tank from there? If so, where does the pressure come from? Or is it that it's just an extension to your regular tank and the pump shown is just for show?

Isn't it illegal to have/transport fuel in anything other than the gas tanks in the vehicle? I was told this by a cop friend of mine when I proposed keeping a 5gal portable tank in my trunk in case of emergencies so I wouldn't have to walk to the nearest gas station.
The pump on the aux tank is electric and works just like a gas staion pump. The nozzle is also auto shutoff. So the drill is that I pull into the gas station, start pumping into the aux tank on the right side of the truck. Then walk around and start pumping from the aux tank into the OEM tank, which is on the left side of the truck. When the OEM tank is full, I top off the aux tank and off I go.
Of course, I do not have to be at a gas station to fill the OEM tank from the aux tank. I could fill the OEM tank about 3 times from the aux tank and still have a range of 600 miles or so to get to a station and fill the aux tank back up.
I like it.

That doesn't sound right to me. Ohterwise, how would you transport your portable tanks back to the house for your lawn mower, etc.?
Also, aux tanks for pickup trucks have been around for decades.
I'm pretty sure that's an urban legend or something.
I'd be surprised to find out otherwise.
I dunno. Just always thought that was illegal from what my friend told me. Something about if you ever get rear ended or fire danger or some crap.
Either way its a sweet idea and an awesome mod! Anyone who's ever run out of gas on the highway would see the usefulness of this!
My thought is 'Why'?
I see these everyday, but we live in a more rural area so I can see the logic of fueling other yard/farm equipment from a tank like that...but to simply have a crud load of fuel for towing doesn't make much sense to me. Not sure why else to loose that kind of cargo area in the bed of a truck.
If you like driving huge distances without stopping for a drink, restroom break, leg stretch...then more power to you.

Here's the Florida statute on fuel tanks:
http://law.onecle.com/florida/motor-...es/316.80.html
My truck is not a work truck and the two feet of cargo space used for the tank is not excessive.
I don't plan to drive thousands of miles w/o stopping, I just like to know I can go thousands of miles w/o having to stop for fuel. I checked the owner's manual that came with the tank and there were no restrictions about stopping the vehicle before the tank was empty.
That's about it.
Oh, and I don't carry a crud load of fuel...I carry a clean load of fuel.
Pretty cool, how much did that bad boy cost?

Oh...didn't think it would be top secret. I was interested in something like that for my truck--I never feel safe when deer hunting the backwoods, not enough range for my comfort.
