    Right Part Numbrers? Funky?

After suffering from braking induced vibrations I tried bedding the pads/rotors per Zeckhausen...better, but not good enough.

I went to the local dealer to have them check whether it was rotors or rack & pinion / suspension problems; verdict front rotors.

They replaced the front rotors & pads using the following part numbers:

Rotors p/n 4779197AD @ $86.50 each (They did have "Bosch" imprinted)
    Pad Kit p/n V1012558 @ $55.00 for the pair.

Question: Are these the right part numbers?

The reason I ask is that they said that the Magnum RT AWD did NOT use ceramic pads. (I thought they did.)

If they did use the wrong pads or a lesser than OEM alternative, what are my options?

A bit of research showed the following other part numbers which may/may not be applicable:

    V3012558 Mopar V-line Ceramic
    05142558AA OEM Ceramic...maybe Bosch?
    05137666AA unknown origin

    Can anyone help?

    05137666AA is for an 05.

the 5142558aa (for 06) is ceramic, all RT's have ceramic brakes.

the V-line is just a cheaper set of pads. Non ceramic and will probally give you some brake dust.

Honestly, the way my pads have warn (almost 60k, without replacement), im going to get factory pads and rotors again (unless i strike it rich, in which case i will upgrade the pads and rotors).

If your wondering what pads and rotors came on the vehicle, shoot me your VIN, and i can get you part numbers.

    Brake Pads

I bought my 05 used and had the local Dodge dealer replace rotors and pads due to vibration issue at 23K miles.

I do not recall having much brake dust before these hot dogs put on the new pads. Mine is an 05 Magnum RT AWD. Should these have been ceramic?

My wheels are dirty by end of the week, even with me putting a coat of polish on them.

Not an "expert" reply from me... see above, but I know that the ceramic pads are supposed to generate less dust than the semi-metallics. So I suspect you got the "cheapies" as did I. I now have the OEM ceramics on order. They should be in tomorrow...then I can have the price battle with the service dept. The OEM pads list for about $160 for the fronts!

My rationale for going with the OEMs is that a few feet shorter stopping distance may be worth $500 (my collision deductible) or more (life & limb) someday, but I hope not.

The ceramic pad special order came and and were installed today by the dealer today at no incremental charge.

We all make mistakes; those who correct them properly are worthy of praise! I love this dealer!
