i bought Toyo Versado LX in stock size - wow - it is a changed car - quieter, seem to get more out of a tank of gas - i think around 8-10%. and better cornering.

Use a 255x55x18 or a 245x55x18.......... in your choice of tires.

Take a look at General Grabbers UHP in a 245x55x18

Last time, went with 245/55 18 BFG KDWS. They hold the road great, but tread life is looking not so good. Guesstimating they will need replacing somewhere around the 27-30K point. The larger size/stickier rubber appears to have reduced my gas mileage by 1-2 mpg (at least the mpg drop was coincident with the tire change).

When the time comes, I'm considering going back to the OEM 225/60 18 size with the General Altimax HP's.

In the summer I have the Nitto 420s as well, 255/55/18, on my 05 Magnum AWD R/T. Great tire in everything except the snow and ice. Handle well, although they do ride a little firm at full pressure (50psi). They are mainly a summer tire though. IMO they are also much cheaper and provide about the same performance as many of the more expensive tires (proxes, F1, etc.)

I use Vredestein Wintrac Extreme in 225/60/18 in the snow. Seems like nothing will stop it, including a blizzard in a foot of snow, going up a 5,000 ft. mountain pass in VT with 2 snowmobiles in a trailer on the back. Had to stop mid way for a stuck minivan. After I unhitched the trailer and pulled the van out, we rehitched, hit the gas and continued our trip with no problems.

OK well. Nitto 420s was gonna be my tire but after the last report that it is a summer tire ... even know it says its a all-season has me concerned. need it to last me through the winter time so I can plan on some 20's for next summer.

So now what do I do

HANKOOK gets no love. I have 22s on my car. But the Hankooks handle great. My car hugs the road.
