Maggy left on the back of a tow truck

Like it says my mag left tonight on the back of the tow truck, I think I either blew out the trans or the transfer case. I'm leaning more toward the trany. Anyway I floored it last night and the car shook bad and then started to buzz, I stopped the car and the computer locked out the trans, nothing in any gear. I turned off the car for about 2 min. started it back up and I had forward, slipped badly at any thing over 40 mph, and would then lock out the trans again, also would lock it out if I let off the throttle. Got it home, took about 20 min to go 5 miles. So off to the dealership it went, Thank god I have the 7/70 warranty. I'll let you guys know what happened and why when I know more.

Do you want to upgrade to a different torque converter if that is the problem? Might want one with a higher stall speed if you want to launch with mor RPMs.
Enjoy life- you only get one!!

Na, I ain't got the $$$ right now, thanks for the idea, and it's going to be covered under the warranty. By the way guys it was at the dealer ship about a week ago for water in tranny (dipstick seal, and wiring seal) causing a shudder.

Torque converter for sure. Make them flush the tranny 3 times. There is a TSB for the seal. Exact same trouble I had. If you use drive thru car washes skip the underbody wash.

And the winner is------ Whelin, and your grand prize is one junk torque converter!! Yup the torque converter clutch went out, and the buzzing sound I heard was the pump staving of fluid- cavatating. They are waiting for dodge to decide weather or not they are going to rebuild this tranny or get a new one. And the mechanic looked up the service reacord for the car and the wireing seal has been put in a total off three times. he did it last time and another dealer did it twice before I bought the car, so this tranny has had water in it three times now. Thank god for that 7-70 warrenty or I would be pulling my hair out right now!!!

Make sure when you get the new one you break it in. The clutch needs to be babied for 2000km. Take it easy.

My T/C blew apart at 21k miles and they rebuilt the trans. That T/C lasted about 200 miles and started to shutter, now I'm on my 3rd T/C with no problem yet (got 37k on it now) and I'm not easy on it.

You have to brake in the clutch on the new T/C. Perhaps that is why they had to replace your second one after 200 mile.

Talked to the tranny guy today, they had to order more parts again, hopfully I'll get the car back tomarrow. He said there was alot of surface rust on the metal parts, rear bearing and clutch drums, ect. He took some pics with his cell phone and said he will send them to me, I'll post them when I get them.

They rebuilt mine, Which is fine with me I know the guy is very good. I had him rebuild the tranny in my ram this spring. If they do rebuild yours make sure they check everything for rust.

Well I got a few days of driving it since I got it back and man it has never felt like this, the shifts are much firmer and I can feel the torque convorter lock and unlock. I also noticed that I now have some engine braking at hiway speeds when the clutch is locked up, never did this before, it would coast forever. Before the rebuild tranny it felt alot more like a ford truck trans. and kinda slide in to each gear.Although I have not done a full throttle test yet, it feels like it has alot more power. I think this tranny was starting to go since I bought the car.
