Help with some wheels and tires!

Hey guys I've been loooking at a set of wheels for my AWD Mag and I found a set that I like, but I'm concerned about them fitting since the offset is differnt from the R/T RWD.

The size is 20x8.5 with a 40mm offset. I'm sure they'll fit, but will I have to worry about the wheels sticking out past the fender wells? What is a good size tire for this setup? I'm not planning on lowering the car so I'd like to fill the gap a little, but not make the wheels look lost with a high sidewall tire.

    Thanks for your help!

    You could either use a 255/45/20 or a 265/45/20

Great! Thank you! Anyone know about the offset and any issues with inner wheel well rub or wheels sticking out past the fender? Like I said these have a 40mm offset and i'm just trying to work through my concerns.

I'm not sure about the offset difference but I've got a pair of OEM 20's off my RT for sale if they fit. Haven't made a price yet...

Is your R/T an All Wheel Drive? I know the offsets are different between the two. Sweet wheels!

Your 20X8.5 with 40mm offset should be just fine with 402's suggested wheel sizes.

Just make sure that the bolt pattern is 5X115 for correct fitment.

Also the 20"s from a RWD R/T will not work for you. Nothing against magnumitis but those will stick out too far, and even though they look good in the pic the OEM wheels are steel clad with plastic chrome...... Not so good :(

What he said. Also, make sure the wheels are hubcentric or get them to ship hub rings with the wheels.

A hub centric wheel is one the is made specifically for your car. It fits tight over the hub. The hubs on the LX platform are 71.5mm. Most aftermarket wheels are not hub centric. They are designed to fit many different cars, so the manfacturer the wheel with a larger center bore. What this means is that you will need a ring, generally made of plastic, that will take up that extra room. As an example alot of AM wheels have an 80mm center bore. If you were going to put this wheel on an LX you would need to get a hub ring that would go from 80mm down to 71.5. As a LX experienced wheel dealer we would make sure you got the rings with your purchase, but it is not automatic at many wheel shops, you may have to ask for them.

Awesome! Makes sense to me now. So the rings just make sure the wheels stay centered on the hub. Easy enough to understand. Thanks for your help!

I learned about these the hard way a couple years ago. I would never get a custom wheels again without them. Lug bolts aren't made to accurately center a wheel. In case it helps... here's a picture of what they look like.

Well you know what they say. A picture is worth a thousand words. Thank you for that! I checked on the wheels I was looking at and they do come with rings so I should be to go on that front.

Now as long as the 40mm offset works out then I should be good. Now I just gotta save some pennies.

You should be fine with a +40mm offset. I have +42 or +45mm (I can't remember which) on mine with 255/45-20 tires and I'm able to drop the car with no problems.
