    AWD Staggered? Anybody tried it????

Did a search and found only one comment that it will "mess up the driveline after time". Has anyone done this? If so wheels sizes, pics, and some offset numbers. I would assume the higher offset would go to the rear? I just can't seem to understand why it would damage the driveline.

Do you want staggered heights between front and back or stagered width fron to back?

That would be no problem. Just kep the tire diameter as close as you can fron to back.

Staggered width will work as long as the height stays the same, if not your front and rear tires will be turning at different speeds which will detonate the AWD over a short period of time!! I have seen guys run 33in tires on the front and 35in on the back of Jeeps and cant figure out why the transfer case goes BOOM!!

I would image looking at subaru or audi would steer you in the right direction. If they are doing it then it can be done safely. I think it would be hard to find staggered tire sizes that have the same diameter.
It'll be cool as hell if ya can pull it off.

Those vehicles use a different type of transfer case. Ours also works as if it were a center differential as well as a torque splitter. A small amount of tire height difference would not be a problem.

Here is a description of how it works.

Thanks for the good info. I have not really checked wheels with the proper AWD offset in the staggered width category, it is hard enough to find just regular wheels for AWD. I would think a really high offset (+55mm) for the rear with a 20x10.5" wheel and the normal (35-44mm) offset for the front with a 20x8.5" wheel. Also the tire height would stay the same front and back, just the width difference. I think that would be easy to find tire sizes, or am I wrong?
Isnt there a wheel caculator on the net somewhere?
