Anybody running wider tires?

Is any body runnig a wider tire size than a 255/45 or a 265/45? From what I have read so far, this seems to be about it for width on a awd.

Yeah I think that is about it for the largest width... unless you do staggered but I dont even know what staggerd rear rims would work for us AWD owners.

275/45/20 and 275/40/20 work well.

But the question is; Do they stick out beyond the wheel wells? I've got 20 x 8.5 rims with a 40 offset coming with 255/45/20's and I've been told that this is about it before you start looking like a AWD drag car or a ricer.

X-2. What are your rim specs? I would love to run that wide of a tire, but I live on a gravel road, so I don't want them out side the fender. ( too the edge of the fender would be o.k.)

My front tires are exactly flush (within a couple millimeters) with the top of the fender well. My back tires are inset about 5mm. As close to a perfect fit as I could find. I had not seriously considered staggered when I bought these wheels but now I would. I believe that there is enough room on the front for the a 275mm tire with 5mm less of an offset wheel before the front strut mount bolt would be a problem. I would also love to have a set of 315mm tires on the back with a 75mm offset or whatever it took to keep the tire flush with the top of the fender well. I have not done any measuring but it sure looks possible without tubbing. I'm not sure what my offset is, maybe a positive 35mm? If I can remember I'll measure them next time I take them off for a run at the track.

Hope this helps you decide. I tried to get shots that would show you the amount of clearance. As you can see, pretty much flush with the top of the fender well.

I'm running 255/45zr 20 cooper zeon sport r/s and I think mine were put on wrong, the fronts stick out allot more than the rear.

Post up a pic .... they may be the wrong offset ...

I'm using 20x8 with 50mm offset for my summer rims with 255/45R20 tires, and they fit perfectly ... I could fit more tire in the rear I believe
