    1/4 Times catgory rules? RandomAccess?

The original post is here: LX/LC 1/4 Mile Records- Traveling Trophy

    If I have:
    - Cat Back
    - Shorty Headers
    - AFE intake
    - Diablo

What category would I be in?

    And if I add:
    Full length headers
    High Flow Cats
6 PSI of boost from a SuperCharger!

What category would I be in then?

Also, specifically for RandomAccess... Do you know how much AWHP your car is putting to the ground? My baseline before I ever turned a wrench on it has my stock 2006 5.7 AWD at 249awhp on a Mustang Dyno. With the headers, intake, cat back and a Diablo tune I am expecting as much as 290awhp. I am going to verify this in May with another set of dyno runs but I think it should be doable with the Diablo tuner.

    butt.......

If I get a supercharger and only run at a low boost (since the engine will still be essentially stock for another year after that). I'm assuming at 6PSI of boost with no other motor upgrades I could probably take that 290awhp and turn it into 375awhp or more pretty easily before I start worrying about breaking things in the AWD department or screwing up my motor.

Thats my other question for RandomAccess. How to do you keep the AWD from grenading? Are there other mods to upgrade the weak points?

First case would be Super Stock

Second Case would be Power Adder

Any weak point specific to the AWD is not absolute. LouZ broke his transfer case, but he is the only one to do it, so not definite but prbable. Other wise the AWD should be stronger than the rwd on the axles as it has more of them to carry the torque. The transmission is the same as in the rwd.

Your estimate on the SC sounds about right.

I'm throwin' down with the boost

Done - as always, gracias for your patience while stating the obvious for the AWD virgins of the world. What you said makes so much sense I feel stupid and its not even 9AM yet....

And Bob, thats some hefty numbers you threw up right there.

From what I gather, the SC route is still pretty dark and scary on the Hemi. I wish there were more choices and shops that can tune them out there. My problem is, I'm not very good at waiting for technology to catch up and there is the pre-order deal on the GSM I-Charger thats almost too good to pass up.

Fastest doesn't necessarily mean the most knowledgeable... LOL... but I'd be happy to share whatever I do know.

I haven't found my way to an AWD dyno... so not sure what I'm pulling down in HP.

I am running a 100 shot... along with the other mods in my sig... so if 290 is norm for a near stock AWD... I must be in in the 380 neighborhood.

According to a drag calculator based on my 1/4 I'm at 417 to the crank. If we use 15% drivetrain loss... I'm at 355.

We have pretty similar mods except I don't have headers.

I assume you've done the Thermostat and ESP mods. That's definitely free HP.

By the way... where are you from?

The ESPMod and t-stat mod are in the works. I'm trying to spread around the funds a little bit so the wife doesn't freak out. Its about time to flush my coolant and I figure I'll install the 180 T-Stat then. I also really like that www.noesp.com switch with the chip on it but its another 50 bucks that would pop up in the old checking account. Its a clever device though and I will have it installed for my next set of dyno runs. I suspect thats one of the reasons why the dyno operator was struggling so much to duplicate runs.

For my next dyno run I will have -> NoESP, t-stat, JBA shorty headers, CatBack, AFE II, Diablo tune and Drilled & Slotted Rotors.

Then Next January --> Low Boost SuperCharger.... If I can find somebody
    to tune it.

January 2010 (or sooner if detonation blows something)--> Forged internals, cam, low compression pistons, fuel injectors and I start to add boost.

I live in San Jose California on the West Side. I'm the guy with the Magnum in the sea of BMW's. Its hard on the highly fashionable beemer set when they get smoked by a station wagon in their ultimate driving machines. Sometimes I roll the windows down so they can see the car seats in the back..... I want to be fast enough to take out those ultimate drivers in their M series cars though. I have to take it to the 12's....

I just have the RT Junkie ESP Delete mod. A toggle switch that interrupts the same wire as the NoESP.

I read about RT junkies method and even the PDF install directions from noesp.com reveal plenty to show a guy how to switch it without the chip but I really like the way that the chip adds a mode to the stock ESP Button. Its just clever and I hope that dude makes a bunch of beer money off that thing.

Truth is, I will likely have to do the RT Junkie mod temporarily anyway. If my Diablo tuner gets here in time I am going to do a dyno session on Saturday after the shop installs my headers and I don't want to do another dyno run with ESP.
