    Road Trip Gas Mileage Report

I took a trip to Burlington, then Charlotte, North Carolina and back to my home in Warminster PA over the Labor Day weekend.

Cruising at 70-75 MPH with the CC on I averaged 25-26 MPG using 89 octane gas. Gas prices in NC and VA are cheap!! Only 2.29/gal for regular down where I was.

My Maggie performed flawlessly as usual....runs like a champ, up to 85K miles on her now.

    That is all.

Oh, and in addition to that, I see what NC, and VA spent stimulus money on......many many State cops all over the place! Kind of lurking like gators in a swamp in the ravines and gulleys along the interstate with just their lights showing. I never drove more that 7 over the limit because I know those Southern police types don't play nicely......

In one mile stretch on I 81 I swear they had at least 15 people pulled over and on the next overpass were 3 more with their radar out.....I mean come on, aren't there any real criminals to go after down there?

It's a cash cow,,, all them thar speeders got lots of money!

We have the same problem with our traffic/highway "Sheriff's" up here in Alberta,, they actually cause traffic hazards because there's so many of them and they have a quota to fill by the end of September.

You wouldn't believe how much Calgary has grown since then,, over 1 mil. people and spread quite a bit,, google map it and see.
Airdrie is not part of Calgary yet,,,, soon though. The furthest north houses on Center street north and the southernmost houses of Airdrie are only a couple miles apart as the crow flies,,,,.
