R/T exhaust installed with no welding.

Before I attempted the job I read the R/T exhaust install in the Knowledge Base which gave me all the info needed for a hassle free installation. I just did one thing different. I bought two adapters ''2 1/4 i.d x ''2 1/2 o.d. If you look at the V6 Y pipe it has slits cut in the pipe so the clamp can tighten it. I did this to the adapters with a grinder and a cutting disc. I then cut the clamps off the Y from the V6 exhaust and put them on the adapters and installed them on the car. After some struggling (by myself) I then installed the R/T exhaust. You now have 4 clamps up front, but that is no big deal. Just tighten them up and your good to go. Make sure your muffler is straight first. I didn't even need the Bezel kit I bought. The tips fit under the bumper for a nice clean look just like I wanted. Now the car has a cool low rumble with out the high pitch ricer sound.

The car is fairly quite at highway speeds, but once you step on the gas you can definetly hear the exhaust. May have lost a little bottom end(maybe), but you can tell there is more power when passing slower traffic(usually Mustangs). Once the computer dials itself in I should see more power and hopefully more mileage if I can refrain from stepping on the loud pedal .

People have said pull fuse 11 to reset the adaptive controls, may be worth looking into.

I figured the computer would notice the difference and adjust itself. How long does this take? I am brave though. I'm going to try pulling the fuse and see what happens.

I don't have a V6, but I've pulled fuse 11 a few times. No big deal. Just don't do it while the car is running.

Basically, don't be afraid of the fuse.
I'll be pulling mine again after I get my SRT catback put on.

Well since there is a request for some pics I have provided some to show what I did.

Here is a shot of those slits that you want to cut into your adapters. This will the pipe to seal better. Just use a thin cut off disc. If you don't have experience with these discs PLEASE be care full and wear safety glasses and heavy gloves. These discs can explode and the shrapnel will take out teeth and eyes as well as sever tendons in your arms and hands.
This is a shot of the connection up front. The adapters fit over the lead pipe and inside the R/T exhaust for a leak free installation.

I tried pulling fuse 11 and didn't really find any difference. I do notice that at lower speeds if the car is in o.d. under 1500 rpm it has a tendency to gear down because of a slight loss in back pressure and bottom end. No real big deal and hardly noticeable. I like the way the car sounds and wouldn't change a thing. I do believe though this exhaust is about the limit for these motors. You can go louder if you want, but you may sacrifice what little back pressure is left.
