a few people are telling that the flow master 40 series is the wrong way to go. they say that there telling me to run other things. any thoughts as to why they say that or are they telling me the truth.

I run dual Flowmaster 44's on my 3.5L, and yes.....there is drone......doesn't really bother me that much as I usually crank the stereo volume........I might line the spare tire area with some sound deadening material.......

My buddy was following me with his Hemi last weekend and said my car was pretty damn loud!!!!!!...but a good kinda loud.....

....and a few other Hemi owners here have said my car sounds more like V8 then their V8 does.......

Likewise here...Mopar Borla dual kit for my sixer and it sounds awsome with the AEM intake!!! I put a flowmaster 50 on my old 4.0l Jeep Cherokee and I got soo many compliments from other cherokee guys and all sorts of other ppl. I went with the Borla kit for the 300 because I wanted something a little higher end, and I love what it has done

Have you tried looking on YouTube for videos of V6 Magnums with 40's? Maybe you can find some sound clips there?
