    Hey V6 guys! Here is an idea!

    Okay..I was thinking the other day about V6's and how to get more out of them. Short of spinning the bajeezis out of them, you need cubic inches!
    Well DUH! Right?

    As far as I can find on info, the 3.5-3.52-4.0 V6 blocks are all internally the same except for minor differences in the mount location. The 3.5l V6's are really solidly built motors with stronger than need be guts.
    This idea may fly right here;
    Take a 4 litre (Candian spellin, right there) V6 crank out and drop it into a 3.5 block with a .030 (which it can handle just fine) overbore and VOILA!
    4.02 liters!

    http://www.allpar.com/mopar/38-40.html

    3.8 Liter (2005)
    9.6
    3.78 x 3.43 (96 x 87)
    215/245

    4.0 Liter (2007)
    3.78 x 3.58 (96 x 91)
    10.3
    253/262
    @0.030 overbore
    3.81 x 3.61 = 4.02 liters OR 244 cubic inches
    .060 overbore is pushing it but = 256 Cubic inches or 4.2l (JUICY, EH?)

    These cranks are out of the new Pacifica and Nitro platform

    You should not have to notch the block or get clearanced anywhere.

    NOW... bump the compression up from 9.6 to 10.5 and I am SURE that things would get a LOT more interesting!

    Add a touch of the laffygas and things suddenly get complicated for a lot of V-8s!

    Its all VERY logical!

    --> YUP!

    Well, doing all of the assembly work yourself and hiring out the machining, I figure a little less than 2grand. Not including the nitrous...

    Hard to say EXACTLY... this is a new combo as far as I know....I would say about 260-265 at the crank w/o squeeze or milled heads/ higher compression pistons, minimum.

    Rough guess w/o squeeze and .060 bore and 10.5 CR....280-290

    No substitute for cubic inches, but the 3.5 is a more efficient power dense motor than the 5.7 hemis. 1.168hp/cid hemi= 1hp/cid. I would think a 100 shot of nitrous, possibly with some 100 octane gas 35 thousands gapped plugs at least 1 range colder would get them running with or slightly ahead of a stock hemi, at least mid 14's. Air Hammer and a freeflowing exhaust. The lower compression of the stocker would be safer with the juice to. I'll bet the Caliber guys will have some new goodies for the new RT's also.

    I have no doubt that these motors could take a 100 shot!!

    I thought the Caliber came with either a 1.8, 2.0, or 2.4L "world engine"??? The SRT was going to use whatever the Neon SRT-4 used, is that the 3.5? Or did they change something?

    Yea, I think your right, too many Bushmills on the rocks. But Hammer is right that the 3.5 has a lot of potential, there are a few Prowlers that run like hell. When you guys get a Diablo tuner, your gonna shiat! Imagine lining up agains an old school GTO,442, SS396, 289 Mustang and beating them with a 4300 lb v6 Dodge Stationwagon? It's very easy to do a stealth nitrous install in these cars. Heck I been thru teck inspections many times wit my Ram, never saw the juice.

    Well some of those prowlers have that 5.0L bore and stroke kit right?...that could possibly be engineered.....what we need is either frank racing or hemi shop to make some cams and such....that would be awsome.

    I think I was told the crank had bigger mains and the block would have to be machined to allow for the longer throws.

    I was thinking I'd like to get a whole 4.0 engine or short block, and see if it could be put in with our externals.

    About the cams and such... there are going to have to be a LOT of folks stepping up for this.
    Its VERY expensive to R&D this sort of thing and unless there is a hue and cry for this in a grand scale..
