    Diablosport

Ill probally get booted off the forum for the following comment:

This company is full of S***! We [ the v6 owners ] have all put our names on a list for a tuner [ id assume over 100 ]. And all they seem to tell anyone is that ...." we are working on it " or " comming soon".
F*** them! and there lack of interest in our 3.5's!
Ive dropped over $1000 in mods and will drop more on a tuner.

If this thread is not deleated [ to soon ] pass it to EVERY V6 owner. Maybe someone could get another company to take interest.

    WE ARE GREAT IN NUMBERS!!!

Well, you have to give them time, they are a small company, not a large corperation. I think they pre-plan what they do next after one vehicle is done, after the LX Hemi cars, they moved on to get the Dodge Rams done. Which is abt to be released. They know by the posts in their forums, that the v6'ers want one also. I would just give them sometime. I am not trying to make you any more frustrated than you already are, I just trying to help.

I can understand the frustration, but companies do plan ahead and it would foolish to assume there are as many V6 LXs as there are Ram Trucks. The fact that they are even going to produce the Predator for the V6 is great news! It is tough waiting, but the company will only produce a product that will pay the bills.

With that said...maybe the company will take advance payments or reservations? If they know that aour committment is real then maybe that would step up the production time. Just my 2 cents.....

You have to keep it in perspective too...

For the RT/SRT's there were over 500+ people that showed interest when I first put up the threads. And not everyone followed through and purchased a predator.

So 100 interested, which will result in 50 purchases might not get their attention as quickly.

Also... $1000 in mods... isn't really a lot. (not with the prices on parts for this car) I don't even want to add up what I spent on my RT. And I probably spent $2000 on my Charger... just on cosmetics though.

Point is... You can add me to the list of folks willing to buy a predator for the V6. But you are going to need a lot more on that list before you'll get their attention.

If you are going to build one, build it before you tell everyone and they get thier hopes up. Why tell people one is on the way and then not deliver for many months or years. Rode that roller coaster with Kenne Bell and his supposed release for a supercharger for my 2003 Ram. After over a year of promises that it was coming, they cancelled it and started on 2004 and newer Rams. Different computers. Because of the lower volumes of 03's they said the market was not there. If you are going to build it, then build the damn thing.

    Thumbs up Well...

I understand your frustration certainly. In spending quite a bit of time communicating with them to make sure the write up I have done is accurate, I have learned a little more about how they do what they do....

They essentially have to hack the code of our PCMs to put the power of tuning into our hands. Mopar has in some cases gone to great lengths to keep anyone out of their code, and then does stuff like remove software options entirely in some cases (EG: Removal of the TCM's autostick upshift disable in '07 cars - can;t do it, software switch was removed).

The number of headaches and unforeseen consequences is great. It's a lot like taking a step forward and two back sometimes. At any rate, I hear you, and understand what you are saying.

The best bet is to stay on them, and that's ALL V6 folks, because if they know there is a large market of V6 people ready to place their money on the table, your tuner will get more attention.

Everybody has to eat, and I think that with the huge burden in labor hours it takes to develop this type of tool, they have to "go where the money is" sometimes.

And when I speak to them next, I will be sure to try to further your cause.

x2 I don't usually put my money on vaporware but I am pretty confident they'll get to it eventually.. maybe if they saw some down payments they would help our position on the "roadmap"

I also agree that if I was doing this I'd jump on the Rams too. But, if they cracked the code for the Hemis most of the work is done. I would think they should be able to look at the parameters the V6s come set at and maybe give us the same user adjustable parameters they gave the Hemi guys than it should mostly be a case of just writing the code.

Now I know I'v over simplified it but once it's done for one model LX the next should be a cake walk.

But now for my foreboding. I have an early '06 with a 4spd trans mission that doesn't even have a TCM and the PCM controls the tranny. Will they really go to the extra trouble to get the tuner to work with our PCMs? That was a major problem with the B&G flash. They could reprogram a stock PCM from an early model but not a new one cus something was missing in the flash.

something i did think of last night on the way back from VA......

if they have hacked and cracked the codes and settings, would it be possible that they offer it in a program thats downloadable.

i know the bad side to that would be piracy, but the HPTuners program we were using on the J-body scene (www.hptuners.com) simply required use of a laptop and access codes.

the only downside to tuning is that if you didnt have a laptop, then you would have to get one...but thats doable, but a bit more expensive overall... about 500$ for the regular program, 650$ for the professional, then another 2-400$ for a good laptop....

its another option...i doubt they will do it that way being that their company is based on the handheld programmers it seems. and you can possibly lose money once the software is out there and being hacked... but hacked software you run the risk of your ride....

the sell the software and one license per copy may be an option if another company can crack it...
Why sit around and watch everyone else live YOUR dream? Plus how many 330lb Samoans do you see doing standing dropkicks?
