    B&G at the track...snake oil?

Well I finallly got a chance to get to the track last night. The car was running the same setup as previous runs but this time with the B&G PCM. The PCM had been installed for at least 500 miles. I was expecting marked increases in the times....but I didn't see it.

    Temp 43
    Baro 30.25

    15.335/89mph

This is only .04 slower than my fastest time of 15.29sec, but I was expecting definate improvements with the B&G. Anyone else noticed this? Orhad any track time to show any changes with just the B&G installed?

I know for a fact that the B&G improved my times. I was consistently running 13.4-13.6 in Phoenix. Once I put in the B&G, I was consistently running 13.1-13.2.

There were some issues with the tune "not taking" and some people had to send their PCM back for a retune.

One question - why are you messing with the B&G when the Predator is superior and cheaper?

Scratch that last question. I'm going to assume you have a 3.5, but you should put it in your sig.

i think his question is more to V6 owners isn't it?

I would assume there isn't a direct relationship between how its helped the V8 cars and its effects on a V6

Besides that you didn't see any improvement in the 1/4 mile what about your speed limiter? If it's still at 118 mph then for sure the flash didn't work or they gave you an unflashed PCM by mistake.

Well I know the rpm limiter has been modified, cause in park I can rev it to 5000rpms. When in gear its to about 6600. It does feel faster but the track doesnt prove that. I havent tryied to take it up to 120+ ....yet

I think the flash is done in one shot so it's either flashed or it's not flashed. If you see signs of it being flashed then it is.

Did you have a bad tank of gas? Did you have too much gas? Was the DA and %RH about the same as your best run? How do your 60' times compare?

Well I am only going from memory as most of the timeslips are packed away in the house. THe only change would be about 150lbs heavier this time due to fuel.my 60's are ususually about 2.2. Gas was the same as what I had before. Just wish B&G were still on the forums!
