    Question 3.5's run rich?

I notice with my 3.5 that it seems to really coat the exhaust tip with a lot of soot or carbon... whatever you call it. More so than other V6's I've had. The car gets the advertised mileage, so it's running good. Just wonder if other 3.5 owners notice the same thing? Is this just the way the 3.5's run?

I didn't notice mine until I got the B&G flash but yes it looks like a diesel exhaust tip.

Good to know this is just common. I was about to pull fuse 11 because I thought I had a problem. I started noticing it after I put on a Daytona exhaust, but maybe that's just because I couldn't be arsed to care before that...

I bought a Borla exhaust bacause I hated the look of the stock dull, sooty looking exhaust tip. Now I have a nice shiny stainless steel sooty exhaust tip! I have to wipe the tip with a paper towel when I take it to the car wash to try to clean out some of the build up..... sigh.

Hmmmm I noticed that the exhaust tips were not as black as stock after I installed exhaust, and JetII. I also started running 91 octane then.

The jet chip is suppose to lean it out a bit. I noticed an increase of soot when I removed it. I wish I hadnt sold mine. (was going to B&G till Danny had his problems)

Yep, the Borla tips really get "sooty" fairly quickly. It's all part of detailing the car after you wash it!
