Question 3.5L Super 44's Muffler Size

Sorry if this is a repost, but I have been looking everywhere to find some info. on this, but have so far been unlucky in finding any. For my newest mod I will be cutting out the stock muffler and replacing it with a supper 44 muffler. I was wondering if anyone new what size inlet and outlet i should get if I want to BOLT it on and NOT weld it. I am going with the single inlet and outlet if that info helps any.

    Thanks in advance

The OD of the cats/midpipes are 2.25 so you need an ID of 2.25 to fit over and clamp on..

doing an RT(2.5 ID) swap out you use a 2.25 ID to 2.5 OD expander/reducer

Thanks for the help Zoban, I was wondering if you should buy a 2.5 inch inlet if the midpipes were 2.25, so it could slide over them

No. 2.5 will be too big. You need a 2.25 like everyone else just wrote above.

If you run the 2.5" Super 44s, you will need a muffler shop to fab up adaptors to mate with the 2.25" factory pipe........There will be too much room if you slide the 2.5" inlet over the 2.25" existing piping......

From the Cats back I run a 2.5" dual exhaust with dual Series 44 Flowmasters..........The guys in our club say my V6 sound more like a V8 then their V8s do!!!!!

I understand what you were probably thinking though. See, to make 2.25 fit over another 2.25 they slightly widen one of the pipes so that it can fit over the other one. then clamp it and you're good to go.
