    3.5 Supercharger--thomas Knight

I Received The Kit Back From 'the Saint' Ordered Through Mopar Supercenter , And I Must Say I Was Totally Surprised. I Was Sure I Was Slipping And Had Somehow Let Some Awful Product Leave My Shop According To The Posts And Pics. But When The Kit Arrived, I Opened The Box Expecting All Sorts Of Horrible Deep Gauges And Scratches To Cover All The Pipes--at Least That Is What The Impression That Thread Gave. But Guess What? The Gauges Are Tooling Marks That All Mandrel-bent Pipes Will Display Unless Completely Polished Out. Had The Photos Shown The Pipe In It's Full Rotation, You Would Have Seen That The Gauges--actually, Eight Tooling Marks .020" Deep By 5/16" Long Were Spaced Exactly At 90 Degree Intervals. The Photos On The Aformentioned Thread Also Show A 'transparancy' Of The Paint. Well I Assure You Of One Thing--99% Of You Would Have Shaken Your Head And Said What The Heck Is This Guy Talking About? It Took Me 10 Minutes In The Bright Light To Find The Spot Where The Paint Showed Through In The Photos. I Thought Maybe He Had Painted The Pipes And Then Sent Them Back. If You Held The Pipe Just Right You Could See A Shadow Of Aluminum Through The Black Paint--like Looking At Basecoat/clearcoat Paint.
So--how Am I To Show Mopar Supercenter That Everything Was Not The Catastrophy Shown On The Thread? Well, I Have Already Shipped Them Another Kit To Inspect Before It Goes Out, To Photograph For Their Catalog, And Will Ship Them These Pipes As-is For Their Opinion. I Expect Mopar Supercenter To Give A Clear And Concise Opinion Of The Product In A Few Days. Keep Your Eyes Open For Moparsupercenter's Critique Of The Kit As Well As The Pipes In The Pics.
Please Keep In Mind That There Are Those Who Considered The Mona Lisa To Be A Horrible Painting--beauty Is In The Eye Of The Beholder.

I looked at the pictures in the other thread. I couldn't see anything wrong with them there. Oh well, live and learn I guess.

If you can solve your problem, then what is the need of worrying? If you cannot solve it, then what is the use of worrying?

I am still trying to figure out where and how the gauges are mounted on the pipes. Why would you even put a gauge on the pipe? All those gauges must monitor a bunch of stuff like pressure, temperature, velocity, stinky air and what-not. I would want my gauges mounted inside where I can see them.

No hate - just friendly ribbing.

    Mopar Supercenters Response

Please, let us all put away the friendly ribbing, or un-friendly if it may be.

It does not matter why our customer decided to send the kit back. Our policy is that we are going to take care of our customers, even if they just changed their mind and do not want the product anymore. Our customer was also correct, first impression of the product is extremely important, and apparently this did not meet his expectations. It does not matter, if the customer is not happy with it, then we will do what we can to make it right.

Now I do think that this all could have been handled more professionally by all parties.

Had the customer dealt directly with us regarding the problems he had found rather than publicly posting them as we were trying to rectify the complaint. We would have taken care of the customer as quickly as possible as we always do. Now do not take me wrong here, I strongly believe that the customer should post his review of the product, positive or negative. I think that we should have been given the opportunity to have rectified the problem before hand, this way the review could have included the results.

I do not appreciate the manufacturer jumping into said discussion, this was our customer, and we will take care of the situation properly. I do appreciate the fact that the manufacturer was willing to help us take care of our customer. Even more so, that they were willing to take back the product. This all should have been handled between the manufacturer and Mopar Supercenter behind the scenes, not on a public forum.

Now starting a new thread regarding the returned product is absolutely absurd! This is like calling someone out on the forum, it fires up the members of the forum to publicly defend the said member and make the thread starter look bad. The manufacturer should have relied on the distributor to handle the public image in an appropriate manner.

    In Defense:

The customer had every right to post the information and his opinion based on what they received. This is what forums are all about, informing, helping, and communicating to others who share a direct interest.

The manufacturer needs to know if there is a breakdown in the manufacturing processes to deliver a quality product. They should rely on their distributors and forums such as this to communicate this information back to them. This will give them a better understanding of what the end user expects and how well their product performs.

The distributor should have had the opportunity to handle this without stepping down to this level. We believe that the ATS Turbo kit is a quality product, and we will be reviewing a kit in the very near future. We will make a post in our section discussing the kit and its quality in great detail. This is one of the most affordable kits on the market for the V6 cars, and we will present it as it really is.

If the quality is not there, then we will not carry the product.
If the service is not there, then we will not carry the product.

    Enough said!

    Ted

Good post Ted. MPSC has always been a top shelf vendor in my book.

I was only commenting on the incessant capilization, which made his post difficult, if not impossible to read. Actually, I am still not completely certain what the complaint really was.

In any case, I know you guys will make it right as always.

I'm not sure where you are going with this. He's explaining something that happened in another thread.

Mr. Knight, I honestly didn't see the issues that he was talking about either. I'm still looking forward to buying the S/C in the future. I don't go off of one person and their negative feedback. I've seen positive feedback from other people who have put the charger in.

Thank you for your time and dedication to our cars.
