3.5 for 2010 has an engine cover!

2.7 and 3.5 now have an engine cover. I think I prefer the look of the intake manifold to this piece of funk-plastic. Yuk. (Looks like they've relocated the alternator, too.)

Looks like they changed quite a few things actually. Not sure why they would have moved the alternator...

Yeah, I dont like that cover either.

Looks like there's some kind of a "growth" on top of the Hemi, also.

Reminds me of the Alien face-hugger, actually...

Looks like the 2.7 and 3.5/4.0 that is in the FWD cars. Im willing to bet thats what you are looking at. Thats why the alternator is in that position. The present one in FWD cars look like that.

thats the sebring/avenger/journey accessory setup in those pics. transverse engine placement. i doubt those covers will fit due to the different intakes. the 5.7 cover is from the ram.

That's what I thought too, But that's the photo that comes up when you click on the "Powertrain" link on the 300 page at chrysler.com.

Maybe fiat doesnt know we have RWD.

If you go to dodge.com and under charger you will see the correct motors.

We noticed that they were down a valve at LX nats this year. Wildrider's Challenger has he same upper intake as mine but with one of the valve locations plated over. Donjonsw's Chally has a slightly different intake with a plug cast right in. Interesting to see the differences between two 09 Challenger SEs

There is no "new" 3.5. As has been pointed out, the 2.7 and 3.5 in that picture are the ones for transverse mounting in FWD models, not the LX. Someone in Chrysler's ad and web design department screwed up.

I got hastey, what I meant was http://www.allpar.com/mopar/phoenix-engines.html

I love new engine technology, more power, less emmissions, better fuel echonomy. Todays 3.5L performs at the same level as the 70's v8's (except the 426 and 440) or very close to it. And the 5.7L produces 120hp more, and only suffers 1 mpg for that.

I get so excited, I make mistakes sometimes. My bad.
