    1/4 Mile Times

Just curious...what quarter mile times has anyone turned with their 3.5 V6? Chargers should be the quickest as they are the lightest in weight.

    Mine is 16.378 seconds at 86.97 M.P.H.

Mine is 15.656 at 89.200 MPH. My highest MPH in the 1/4 is 89.6 but I didn't get my best ET when I did that.

Over this winter (drag racing season here) I expect to best these times and MPH.

Stock tires and wheels, AirHammer HO, Zoomers duals with an X pipe, remote controlled fan mod. I've removed the jack and spare. I also removed all the covers and shelves from the back area. Make sure your engine is not too hot. The temp gauge should be at the 10 o'clock position (170 to 180 degrees). I have the 4 speed transmission. It seems to make no difference if it's in Low or Drive. If you have a 2005 you can pull fuse 17 to completely disable ESP. If yours is newer it will put you in limp home mode so don't do it. A good sticky track at low altitude helps. Our lowest track is at 1,000 feet. I believe paradog/paratrooper has access to a lower track.

    Stock 17"
    1/4 - 1/2 tank
    removed spare and jack
    weighed in at 3966
    turned esp off
placed in 1st gear and let trans shift
launched at 1200-1500rpms as the last yellow lit up.

The result has been multiple runs at different times of the year ranging from a low of 15.29 and most below 15.45.

I plan on installing the B&G and headers soon. Thats the last hope of 14sec times...or baby needs a bottle!

Did any of you guys think about pulling the back seats, they do come out easily, esp. the rear butt part of the bench....Might save you 50lbs or so. Wish i could go to a track close, but the closest is like 2 hrs away.

I have thought of it but I would rather do a run without all the hassles.

A couple of things about the seats. I hear the rear bench does not weigh much at all. The rear backs are supposed to be heavy. Also, the front passenger seat is heavy but you would have to get your occupant classification recalibrated at the dealership when you put it back in.

I think I've reached the point where taking more weight out is going to be counterproductive because now my rears are spinning a lot.
