So I was doing some research and noticed that the SXT went from 4-speed to 5-speed, is there a huge difference in the two, I noticed mine is real laggy with LONGG gears..anyone experience both?

My wife gets mad if I let the rpms go redline when I am passing someone.
If she only knew.
The Magnum has a soul. It has a personality, something all too lacking in the automotive transportation appliances everybody else is offering.
I have an 05 Magnum with the 4 speed and my wife has an 06 300 with the 5 speed. Her car feels peppier off the line and seems to get better gas milage. This could also be due to the Magnum being heavier though. The 5 speed also seems to shift better and hold the gears and rpms better. The 4 speed seems to have the engine rpms drifting around maybe unlocking the torque converter when the load changes such as going uphill. If I had the choice I would pick the car with the 5 speed.

I have the 06 SXT with the 5 speed. I would be curious to know if one is quicker than the other off the line. Anyone know what the gear ratios are for each?
When test driving the 05 AWD felt pepier than the 05 RWD. I can't imagine that the diff gears are that much different between the two, so I'd think the 5 speed is the main difference. Also not long after I bought the car I stumbled across a SXT RWD Maggie that wanted to race me on the highway, and while I wouldn't say I walked him, he did never stand much of a chance ether. Keeping in mind the AWD is heavier I'd have to guess that the trans was the main advantage.

I have the 4 speed stock box. My father has an '06 300 Touring with a 4 speed auto stick, just like I used to have in my 1998 Intrepid ES, (but did not have in my 2002 Intrepud ES!)

Now, I wonder which is the more reliable of the two.

My old '93 Eagle Vision had the 4 speed, no sure if it had the same gearing as used today but by Fnky's ratios I'd bet they're at least very similar today.
It's the 1st and 2nd gears which are the "money gears" in the NAG1 vs. the 4 speed (though I've grown to love 3rd too and wish I could hold 3rd while dropping the pedal on the highway but the TCM insists on downshifting below 3700 rpm).
The NAG1 keeps pulling in 2nd where the my old 4-speed LH would go flat in 2nd. This certainly jives with Fnky's posted gear ratios.
