    Venting. . . . .

So Maggie is broke down again (just got done changing the EGR valve and spark plugs about 500 mile back). This time it was a leaking thermostat housing (replacing with a new mopar housing and thermostat). Right now I'm sitting here thinking about the fact that I owe $14K on Maggie (long story short, had to trade in our Honda Pilot to a Maggie cause I lost my job a 1 1/2 ago and we couldn't afford the payments on the Pilot) and in the last 1 1/2 months I've sunk well over $300 into her in repairs (i do all the repairs and service) and I'm wondering if this is a sign of things to come or what? She just rolled over 78K and reading on the forums it looks like I'm just about ready to change out the water pump and timing chain and I'm sick to my stomach thinking about it cause I still don't have a job (only living off unemployment), the bank is taking the house and it seems like don't have any form of luck in life!! I know things could be worse but right now the negative is all I'm seeing!!! There I feel better now. . . .lol!!!

. . . .and yes I know, things could be worse and its just stuff, but I cant help how I'm feeling right now!!

So you bought it 1.5 years ago? Do you know the service history? The REAL service history? Not just what someone told you?! At 78,xxx you will have failures if simple preventive maintenance was never done but that's all cars.

$300 in parts in a year and a half isn't that bad either. I would start looking on the bright side of things and saying, damn I'm glad this has been a pretty solid car for me.

Your situation sucks but you gotta keep your head up. As hard as it is.

Sorry you're going thru a rough patch. At least you have unemployment. I'm self employed. Last year I had a -$156,000 income. I had to sell my gun collection to eat. My Magnum has 245,000 miles, but I'm lucky , it's very reliable and my single wide trailer is paid for. Good luck to you. Contrary to what you see on the 6 o'clock news, things aren't all that rosey.
