timing chain

ordered a new timing chain after chassi number, and its a 2007
but it did not fit into the engine,
had to order another much weaker timing chain that fits only
2005 model engine.
why do I have 2005 engine in a 2007
when there is an early and a late 2007 engine?

Did you buy your car new? If not, maybe previous owner replaced the engine?
