    Talking about painted calipers...

I had to take my wheels off for some cleaning and repainting first did the rotors they were looking like hell then decided to re paint the hangers well what the hell the calipers look like crap as well... what to do?? what to do?? I got it!! I will pull a SoCalRT and do some polishing well didnt want to pull them off for the full on polish so they now have a polished face and the rest of the caliper is black works great wit my wheel combo....sorry for the crappy pics

What did you use to polish them? Think it looks pretty good half pain half polish. Was thinking about tossing some bright blue on mine but that looks sweet!

Awesome, it has come the time for me to respray my calipers (they have been painted since 2004) and I am really diggin the polished look. How do you do this? I think that this is the route that I may have to take

i originally had mine red then changed to silver so i had a think coat of paint so this is what i did..

    1) took a drill with a little wire wheel and cleaned all the paint off
    2) bought a little hand sander from harbor freight with extra packs of sand paper...the shape of the sanding serfice looks like an clothes iron
    3) files off that line you know the one guess you could use a grinding wheel if your careful
    4) started in with the sander 80 grit went up to about 120 (thats all they had to fit the hand sander)
    5) by hand used 600, 1000, 1500, 2000
    6) grabbed whatever aluminum polish i had and with a cllean rag and started rubbing
    7) once the shine was there i taped off the front and part of the top painted the rest

this was not an easy process but i think its well worth it
