    Short Ram Intake for 2.7

I need to replace my air filter soon. I was just thinking of buying one of those short rams of ebay the ones that go for around $24 + $22 shipping. Anyone had any experience with them? How are they are keeping crap outta the engine? I noticed they only had the cold air for the 3.5.

if you want your filter sitting on your exhaust manifold they are great i personally would stay far away from almost all the crap intakes on ebay

the short ram intake does not rap around to the stock location its not long enough... the extended intake does but looks like two pieces of sh!t stuck together...

and i didnt mean that it rested right on the manifold but that the filter was to close to the manifold which isnt the best place for it....

    NO NEED TO YELL!

This is what a Short Ram Intake looks like installed. The is just temporary for now till the extra money comes around for the hammer. But i can honestly say the engine does breath better with it and my fuel milage did increase. I usually get around 380km per full tank of gas and after the intake i was getting 430km(remember i am 3.5L AWD).Anfter sea foam treatment i'm now getting 445km per tank(sorry have not worked out the miles per gallon ratio). See pick below for install(got it off ebay for the same price as a new stock replacement filter would cost) plus it looks beeter than that big black air filter.

Mopar Remote Start, Charger Chin Spoiler, Led Tails, and crazy nut behind the wheel...

Actually there is a bracket that came with it that slips under the O ring clamp around the end of the filter and blots to the exact spot that the stock box was screwed unto. I send you a pics later. I will look into the k&N filter,as it probably does fit onto the intake shaft that i have. Thanks for that note.BTW what is the part# for the k&N that i should get?

Hey bigal470 on the auction on ebay it said it would fit the 2.7L engine as well. I would not know as i have never seen under the hood of a 2.7L, and i thought they were the same, but thanks for the heads up. No offence taken either, you learn something new everyday.

the TB is back further on the 2.7 and pointed in a different direction im sure there is a way to make it work but dont think it would look right...and hope i dont offend anyone with my replies ive just seen so many poeple burned with these ebay intakes it gets frustrating....

i emailed pretty much all the sellers on ebay about the intakes for the 2.7 asked them why the tube is so short cant you make them longer so the filter is in the stock airbox location and all of them say sorry it cant be done this is how we receive them from the manufacturer and they cant make them longer... interesting so basically this tells me they ordered a million of them so they can sell at a dirt cheap price....Chrome intake suggested there two piece long intake kit which to me doesnt make sense it looks bad because they joined the two pieces of pipe why not just use one long piece im sure you know what they said

yea i hear you man the one i bought was back when i had a hyundai accent gt and it fit good but i can see your point it's just all the other ones made for the 2.7 are like $250-$350 it's crazy what they could charge when you could just buy that from ebay fro $30 and buy a k and n filter for another $40 and bee good to go i guess if its not in the stock location though it would suck but im sur eit wouldnt suck as mcuh as the stock one does ....... unless you got the k and n drop in and then that might be better just take the resanator off if your going to do that

and as far as a part number i dont know it just measure out the pipe and find a k and n filter with the same inner diameter as the pipes outer diameter is and then clamp it on im sure if the cone is big it wouldnt matter you have plenty of room in there !!

    thats my 2 cents atleast

There is also a cold air intake that one of the eBayers are selling for the 2.7....i mean whats the difference between an ebay intake and a AEM except price if you replace the filter with a K&N and then spray paint it with thermal resistant paint.
