    The Install:

As soon as I opened it up. I installed the CD and updated my Tuner. Once the CD is installed. Open the program and plus in the Hypertech Tuner. Click update on the PC Screen.

I had one file to be updated. Only took a few sec. to update..

    First step before you install...

Remove these Fuses.. Got to the Trunk...

    Radio: 36
    Radio AMP: 44
    Info: 38

Even if you don't have the amp that's under the dash.

If you don't do this step you will get a " Error 7E Wormcode" at the end of the tuner instructions before it installs... And you will have to pulls them and start over..

Once you have this done. Get in your car. Roll the windows down if it's hot. If not you will be sitting in a very hot car for 15min or so. Turn off the Radio and make sure all the lights, Wipers and everything is off.

Now plug in the Tuner into the Port. The Port is under the dash right below the steering Wheel.

Make sure the Car is off, but have the Key in the Ignition. Now plug the Cord into the Tuner and follow the Directions...

It will first read the Car and figure out what motor you have. Then it will read the DTC Codes.

I had one for FCM: U0184
Which means Lost Comm, With radio... If you have installed an aftermarket radio you will get this. Eitherway it's nothing and just Clear it and move on.

I set mine to start with this..

Regular Fuel: Which is 87, but I have 89 in mine right now.
    Thermostat: 180*
Top Speed Limiter: V-149 to match my Tires... (never will go that fast, but why not)
    RPM's: +500

Once you have your settings set. Press "Y" to Cont. and Keep Following the Tuners Instructions.

It will go through a few steps...

You will hear a "DING" or "CHIME"

Then it will Start to READ..This takes a few Mins..

Then it will Copy it. Takes only a few Sec...

Then it will Start Erasing. Takes only a few Sec...

Then is will Start Writing... This takes a few Mins...

Then is tells your to turn Ing. Off...and wait 20sec...

Then turn the Key on BUT DO NOT START.. Wait another 20sec...

    Then you should see these..

    and

I started everything up and Rev. it and ran it for about 5min... No Codes have shown up...

I only programed it for Regular Fuel as that is what I had in my tank and it's full. Next tank I will run Regular again and get a MPG reading. Then I will run the Tune and some Premium Octane. I don't have the Money for a Dyno at this time, but I do plan on getting some readings soon.

Just got back from a test Drive. I drove a loop I drive everyday..

To get on the highway from my house is up hill...

Before the Tune when it shifted from 2nd-3rd it bogged down bad and wouldn't gain any speed or shift up to 4. In till I reached the top of the hill. Like it just didn't have the guts to do it...

When I first got in and drove down the street. I did notice I had a little more throttle response, more then what I for from Switching out my TB for the ported one. On the way to get on the Highway. I didn't notice anything bad or any codes popping up. Everything felt smooth and like Normal.

Once I got to my exit. I floored it and let it do it's thing. Down shifted and started pulling hard. (hard for a 2.7L) Half way up the hill it down shifted at 5500 rpm. Normally it's around 4800 to 5000. So it kept it in 2nd longer. So it pulled all the way through 2nd and once shifted in to 3rd. This is were I noticed the biggest change. Instead of bogging down and just maintaining it's speed. It cont. to pull just like it was in 2nd gear, and kept pulling...

I know this isn't a Dyno Test or anything but a seat of your pants test. But the fact it cont. to pull just as hard was a Big thing for me.

I also noticed the Lag between shifts was decreased a bunch. I'm going to cont. to run it semi hard this week. Just to see how it reacts... Then I will fill up again with 89 to see my MPG for that Tank... Once I figure that out. I will Re-Tune it for 91/93 Octane and do the same.

I also noticed my Temp gauge was a tad lower then normal. Normally. I'm dead center. Now I'm just a hard under. That's after running it hard on the highway/City for 85* Heat...

So far so good. More updates as they come.... If my MPG at least stay the same. We will see if the Tune is worth it. By just the way it pulls after it shifts up. It's a good sign.

    More to Come......

Finished off the First Tank on the Regular Fuel Tune. Went 25 miles farther on this tank. I even drove harder then I normally do. I Normally go about 300 miles or so. This Tank I did 327 miles. I'm Aiming for 350 this next tank.

    Subscribed as well.

Some guys on an Avenger forum have been using this programmer on their 2.7s since it came out and are reporting good results. Especially with fuel economy.

Nothing new to really add. It's been running strong and getting better MPG. I'm about 2mpg better now. I've been so happy with the results. I haven't tried the Premium Fuel Tune yet. I'm going to try it on the next tank. Going to try and go 350mils on my current tank. I made it 340 last tank with 10% Ethanol. This time I have Ethanol Free in.

I would like to mention something I feel would benefit the Hypertech Max Tuner for the 2.7L crowd.

    1. 89 or Midgrade Fuel Tune option..
    2. Tire Size adjustments to correct Speedo...
    3. 160 T-Stat Fan Settings..

If you feel these are a must have. Please E-Mail them at these places..

    techsupport@hypertech.com

The tuner works and as all brand new things. A few tweaks here and there will make it perfect. I'm still very Happy I bought it, but to squeeze as much power out of the 2.7L. These options are very affordable and show real results. They should be on the tuner.

Correct me if i read this wrong, but it looks like you tried to raise the rev limiter / WOT upshift point by 500 rpms. Did it work? You only mention 5500 rpm but 500 over stock would be ~7000 rpm.

Anything new to this? I'm probably gonna buy one when I can find wherever it is cheapest. The cheapest so far is $339.
