Every review said LX with 2.7L V6 is underpowered. Step up to 3.5L or Hemi. Sure, love to, but probably not.
I understand the car is 4000lbs.
I ask all you 2.7L V6 owners. Power is great. But is it that underpower that I will want to trade it in after a while? Or is it so underpower that I'll be too slow to get out of traffic situations that would get me in trouble?
I can test drive it, or look at 0-60 numbers. But it may not give me a real picture day to day.
My reference is a Dodge Grand Caravan with 3.8L V6. How will a 2.7L v6 compare?
I'm not looking to smoke the tires. Just a family sedan. At most, I may get 18" wheels as for modification. Nothing else.
Without Yip Man, there's no Bruce Lee.
I am good friends with someone who has the 2.7 in his Maggie. He says it's a dog off the line, but once up to speed and cruising, it's fine.

i drive mine mainly in city and acceleration is normal nothing fantastic but if you wanted to you could go fast enough to pull out in traffic so to answer your question yes it accelerates fine but dont expect to get sucked back into your seat for me it was more about the comfort and looks then the speed( plus i cant afford a 600.00 dollar car payment and 300.00 insurance for the 300c) good luck!! and buy it !!
MOD LIST : NOT ENOUGH!!
Go rent one, might want to rent a 3.5 too. No since on taking a hit on something you want to get rid of 6 months from now.....

I owned one for 9 months. If you floored it, it would go fast. It was okay for me for a while...But after driving it a lot with my girl and the little one in the car with the AC on...It was a DOG. I didn't like jumping in traffic unless I knew I had time to pickup the pace.
From what I read....Having a lot of weight in the car with the AC on will rund down the motor pretty fast because its weak.
Needless to say....I ended up trading it in for my RT.
It all depends on what you want....The SE just wasn't what I wanted....No matter what I could of done to it.....I wouldn't have been satisfied.

I've had mine for over two years and works great for me....i guess you need to figure out whats more important to you....Mr SRT might think its slow but to each there own I like to kick back and watch him get off the freeway again for gas as i just keep driving and driving and driving....

well...ehh...once u go hemi u dont go back:P....but if u do get the SE maybe trying getting one with leather seats and electric controls and all that...heated seats....im not sure if that is even possible in the SE but that would be nice to have if anything.
It depends on your real world finances...car price, gas and insurance. Right about now the prices of Magnums are at a low. If you can afford a RT by all means get it (used maybe 18000+). If you can't squeeze that much then next would be the SXT (used 16,000-18,000). Of course the last resort would be the SE at the rock bottom price of 12,000-15,000. I own a SE and somedays I just hate how slow it is...namely when someone wants to test me because they think that I have a Hemi (running a 40s flowmaster). On average it is fine. How often will you need a 0-60 killer when going to the grocery store. On the highway it cruises just fine, just be careful with the merging.
So it's not THAT bad, but it could be a hell of a lot better.
The SE's with the leather, power seat and ESP are fleet vehicles...I have one. The problem is that they are not backed by the 7/70 warranties, so if you are buying one over 36,000 miles you have to buy a extended warranty (make sure that it is a Chrysler one).

for your info, i sell dodge cars. i have a mag 3.5l. I feel that it is a little underpowered now, but there is some things to help it. for the 2.7 give your head a shake, but if the price is right and it gets you in to the car, what the hell. go get er grandpa. jk.
