    0w-40 on a 2.7

    Guys,

I have seen a few posts from some fellow members suggesting to use 0w-40 oil on the 2.7 engine even that the manual states that it should use 5w-20

What do you think about it?

    Nope, 0w-40 all the way.

Search for oil in the V6 forums, Oldnavy an old former member has a lot of good info.
So damn custom, I don't even need a sig!

What's the effect if you use 0w-40 compared to 5w-20?

Yes, i actually searched a lot and read all of the Oldnavy posts on oil, i even printed his list when i went to autozone to get the new oil.

I am only a bit worried because these posts I read are kind of old and I don't know what type of oil are the fellow members using on ther 2.7

0w-40 Mobil 1 Synthetic Oil, I change my oil every time I take it out of winter storage, so that would be 1500 miles a year.

Interesting. I guess the guys that engineered and built your engines do not know what they are talking about. After seven Chrysler products, all with over 200,000 miles on them when I got rid of them, I think I will stay with the factory recomendation. To each his own.

Good point, the problem is with 2.7L motor, if you don't take care of this motor is will develop nasty oil sludge. That in turns make your motor SOL.

The 3.5 motor like you have, who knows.
