    No Maritimes on NAV disc

I'm sure I'm not the first one to notice this but the factory NAV DVD has no coverage for the Maritimes! Kind of a bummer since I do most of my summer vacationing down there. Does anybody know if Navteq/Alpine/Dodge have any plans to provide a more "Canada-centric" disc? I've had an email query into DC Canada for a week now but haven't received a reply. I've got the *AC iteration of the software.

    Thanks muchly,

    Canphan

Drove a SRT8 Jeep to Campobello Island NB last week. As soon as we hit the bridge, nothing, kinda weird. Like entering the twilight zone.

I'm not sure where Maritimes is but here is a cut and paste from another post from the 300C forum on what's covered on the AD Verson NAV disk:

    List of Canadian Provinces:

    Alberta
    British Columbia
    Manitoba
    New Brunswick
    Newfoundland & Labrador
    Nova Scotia
    Ontario
    Quebec
    Saskatchewan

    Not covered:

    Northwest Territories
    Prince Edward Island
    Alaska
    Hawaii

    Hope this helps. Regards, BobFam.

Currently nothing east of the Quebec border is available except small parts of Nova Scotia.

    BobFam,

Thanks for the update. That's very good news!

For future reference if you decide to visit Canada's Maritime provinces they consist of New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island, and Newfoundland/Labrador. I guess PEI is still left off the NAV software but there's only two or three highways there so it should be fairly easy to find one's way around... ;-)

    Thumbs up

MOPAR mapping sucks! I have a new 2006 300C with Navigation system, and it has far less mapping than my Garmin c-330 which I move between vehicles. My Garmin is able to take me direct to my home, and even tell me that I am approaching my destination in XXX meters, on the left/right. With MOPAR, coverage in Western Canada is very limited and outside of Calgary basicly shows major highways only. It seems MOPAR needs to buy mapping from Garmin or some other source. The MOPAR web-site I went to states, "With initial purchase of the unit, MOPAR will provide a coupon good for one free update disc.", but I am not certain if this pertains to the latest units or older ones. And I have yet to see the coupon or hear from my salesman if this is true. Had I been aware of the lack of coverage, I would not have spent the $3,000 for a unit which can not come CLOSE to the power of my $800 Garmin. Maybe MOPAR reads these posts????
