How negotiable is a new 2006 Charger R/T nowadays?

I haven't the foggiest clue how well the Chargers are selling here in Canada (and whether there's any limit to the numbers available for Canada, etc.). Consequently, I have no idea how negotiable the final prices would be for a brand new 2006 Charger R/T.

I picked up my first Marauder at end of March 2003, about 4 months after they first arrived on the Canadian market. This particular car arrived at the dealer around mid-to-late February 2003, and by mid March the dealer was willing to offer it to me at $43500 CAN instead of the MSRP of $49800 CAN (and this was way before anyone thought the model would be cancelled within the coming 12 months... and this even considers the limit of 500 Marauders in 2003 for the Canadian market).

I've been spec'ing a Charger R/T to my preferences on the dodge.ca website and I arrive at a ballpark of $42000-43000 CAN, as I'm really only interested in the electronics convenience group, possibly the uplevel sound system, and definitely the R/T performance package.

So what's a realistic street price nowadays up here? Obviously I'd be fairly ecstatic to get the same kind of percentage deal on the R/T as I got on my first Marauder (my second one was bought used with very very low miles) but since I don't know how well the Canadian sales are doing, I have no idea how much room there is to negotiate.

    Hey Triple,

I don't know if you'd get the same type deal on you would on your other car, but you should be able to come in under the 40K mark if your build price was between 42 and 43.

The sticker price on my Charger Daytona was $46,040 and I ended up getting about $6K off the price because of how long they sat on the dealer lot. I don't think the R/T's (or Daytona's) are selling that well up here. You don't see too many of them on the road.

I have a dodge dealer next to my work and they have had 4 Charger R/T's sitting on their lot for over 6 months....they have never moved.

I would bet you could negotiate a very very good deal on one of those!

Not sure where you're located, but I'm out near Pickering, Ontario!

Thanks for the feedback. I see a few Chargers now and again, but R/Ts are rare. I'm going to try calling a dealer this afternoon with exactly the car I'd want, and see if they are willing to deal and how far. I understand that end-of-month is the best time, but I want to get a starting figure at least. Unfortunately, the car has a few extra items I'm really not interested in... we'll have to see how that plays out.

I have a friend that works at Des Sources Dodge Chrysler in the West Island. His name is Simon. Go see him, tell him Terry sent you. I bet he can beat any price(almost) that you can get quoted.

I am sure you can move them at least $3K off the sticker. Back in Sept 05.... I got our factory ordered 06 Magnum RT AWD $5K off Sticker! That was with some hard dealing and only dealing with the Manager none of the Salesmen!

Just be willing to walk on deals if they don't want to meet your price. Never give them the price you want to pay or give them a Monthly payment they will work the numbers in there favor usually! As they get incentives to move that vehicle in a certain time frame. Also, check into dealer incentives for the customer as well, they will not tell you unless you do your homework or ask!

Try to get the figure out of them first then give them a low ball number and usually they will meet halfway! Also, There are other dealers that are willing to deal!

I used www.carcostcanada.com to get my SRT8 at about $4K under MRSP. For a small fee, you can get a price quote that a participating dealer is obliged to honour. No haggle. No fuss. (I do not after any affiliations with carcostcanada.com!) A dealer reference will be provided.
