Decided to buy Winters - Great Deal

    Hi guys

Well today was our first storm here in Montreal.

Although the ESP and ABS worked great, I realized that the Conti All Seasons don't compare to real winters tires.

If it were not for the ESP and ABS, I'm sure I would have got into a bit of trouble. So decided it's time to get winters.

Well I started calling around and found the cheapest was $975 + tax & install to $1,500+tax & install.

Then I checked out the internet, and to my surprise I found a Canadian version to TireRack, it is called TireTrend and is based out in B.C.

Well their prices far out beat anyone I called or seen on the internet up here in Canada.

I was able to get a set of HanCook W300 Ice Bear's 255/55 R18 for only $825 taxes and shipping included to Montreal. (yes that's Canadian dollars)

The service over the phone was great and friendly, I told the salesman about our site and he said he would check it out, and may become a sponser. (They built a Magnum for Sema)

Well I just thought that I would let my fellow hosers know that we have our own TireRack here called TireTrend.

There maybe other great deals out here in Canada, but I thought I would let you know about this one I stumbled across.

Thanks for the Canadian Version of Tire Rack Netsrac! I got myself a version of Cooper Discovery M&S 255/55R18's for $950including taxes (GST & PST), mounting, balancing through my local tire shop Revelstoke Excel tire. Great guys to deal with as they try to get me the best possible price. The price/tire was about $202.00. I traded in my Conti's and got $125/tire only had 300km on them so the $950 was not so painful on the wallet!

Hope you enjoy your new winter's...BTW nice choice in color!

That $825 include the balance and mounting?

No, since they are shipping them out to me from BC here to Montreal.

Called Dodge, and they quoted me $64 for all corners.

Thanks, I love it in Red

    I'm going to take a guess that they're at www.tiretrend.com or www.tiretrend.ca?

I've been told by the parts dept at my local dealer that it's tough to get snows for the SRT right now. Having it snow, doesn't help...

Just checked, www.tiretrend.com works. Magnum SRT8? No Soup for You!

Yes the web site is www.tiretrend.com

You should try them out, because when I called around, nobody had my tire size.

They had no problem with stock for me, and I should receive them by Tuesday.

I used their online tool which recognises the SRT8 Magnum, but does not provide a match for the tires.

I suppose I could look it up on another site and just email them to see what they can get.

Yes, but we are up North here in Canada, and buying from Tiretrend, we don't have to pay high shipping or duty. Plus the tire size is up to the buyer.

This is more about buying here and finding a suitable TireRack type store in Canada.

The Cooper Discovery M&S 255/55R18 size was the only tires that were a good price as well IN STOCK! Yes they are wide however, with the ESP and traction control and me having AWD...the width will be a none issue also the wider tire looks great on the car! Also, I have had the Cooper Discovery M&S on my trucks and the width has been a total none issue with the tread pattern as well they have great wear and awesome traction in the winter

That sounds like a great deal.
I put 235/55R18 Blizzaks on my 05 R/T RWD and they have been great in the little snow we have so far. Bought from & installed by Kal Tire for $300 each.

Hey BBM99....when you say you traded your Conti's, does that mean you're using the Cooper's as your summer's as well?

    Thanks

Got my Hancooks installed today for $73 including take, which puts the total under $900 CDN.

If anyone is interested I am thinking of selling my Self-sealing All-Season Conti's for $400 CDN with 1000 km or 600 Miles.

Planning on 20" in the spring

No, I will be only using my stock 18 inch rims with the Cooper Discovery M&S for winter driving. I have bought a set of 20's - Eagle Alloy 025's and placed Toyo ST's on those rims and these will be my summer wheels and rims.

I guess what I mean by trading the conti's in, I took off the orignial stocker tires with less than 500km on the tires.
