Intercepted, the automobile chronicler Philippe Laguë could lose his driving licence The automobile chronicler Philippe Laguë was early stopped Tuesday morning doing more than 220 km/h on board a powerful car Dodge SRT8. This infringement could cost him his driving licence. It is the roof of misfortune for the automobile chronicler of the newspaper the Duty, which is on the point of publishing in the next days its first guide of the car. Tuesday morning, towards 5 a.m. 30, Philippe Laguë rolled on road 132 West when a police officer of the SQ intercepted, to the top of the Roland-Therrien exit in Longueuil. The journalist carried out the test of a very new car Dodge Charger SRT8 which DaimlerChrysler Canada had loaned to him. “One of our patrol cars actually gave a report of infringement to a driver which rolled to more than 220 km/h in a zone of 100 km/h”, said François Doré, spokesman of the Safety of Quebec. According to our information, Mr. Laguë hit 222 km/h. Its fine amounts to $985. It accumulates also fifteen points of inaptitude on its driving licence. When a motorist reaches fifteen points of inaptitude, the authorities withdraw its licence to him. If it is acknowledged guilty and agreed to pay the fine, Mr. Laguë would lose his licence of control and his livelihood. But before arriving from there there, it can also dispute the report of infringement in municipal court. Lawyer Philippe Laguë did not point out the Newspaper yesterday afternoon. It is rather its lawyer Richard Rougeau who did it. According to Me Rougeau, the journalist did not receive a report of infringement in clean hand when the police officer intercepted. “It did not emit a report of infringement. It is erroneous information”, it was satisfied to say. But the automobile chronicler could receive his report by the post office in the next days since the SQ is on standby of new tickets of infringment. According to his lawyer, Mr. Laguë has always his driving licence. The automobile journalist is not with his first escapades. During years, car manufacturers refused to entrust a car of test to him after it had been implied in cases of dangerous driving. The year spent, Philippe Laguë also made an exit noticed with the emission Everyone speaks about it. In front of 1,7 million televiewers, it criticized his/her colleagues by affirming that they “would sell their mother and their father for voyages and cars”. It also supported, wrongly, as it did not accept any supper with the expenses of the car manufacturers. Philippe Laguë is also a writer supernumerary with RDI since ten years.

Some I don't understand enough to fix the translation.

    The run down...
A journalist got busted doing 135 in a 60 mph zone while testing out a loaned ChSRT. (it's a loaner! cut the guy some slack! rofl)
He could lose his license because if he pleads guilty, the 15 points taken off his license are an automatic suspension. He's apparently got a history of reckless driving in loaners and other companies didn't trust him with their cars (Go DCX!).
His lawyer, btw, says he never got a ticket (*?*)

It mentions something he said in a tv interview that cracked me up...
"People would sell their parents for vacations and cars"
    Go adrenaline junkie!
