I'm glad I made the drive.
Any time spent with you guys is well worth any bumps in the road along the way.
Simon,
Thanks for the Timbits. Those suckers alone were worth the drive. Sorry to hear you had two meetings with LEOs this morning. With your luck lately, maybe it's a good thing there was no racing today
Chris,
Thanks for making sure I found Simon after scarfing down some wholesome goodness at the wrong Tim Hortons

Thank you also for your hospitality by offering storage and fuel. You had all the bases covered. It was also nice to meet some of your family. Thanks for having your brother escort me all the way from Cayuga to the Niagara region (or was he just following me to make sure I was, in fact, leaving the country?

).
Rab,
I feel terrible for you. I know you worked very hard over the last few months to make this event happen. For all of your efforts, I thank you
Fred,
Wear that shirt with pride, man. It's my home team. They can't play terrible forever, eh?
Pete and Christian,
I didn't have alot of time to talk to you guys today, but it was great to see you again. I was really looking forward to your on-track showdown, but alas, I will have to wait until next year to see it.
Don,
Kudos to you and your companion for making the drive from Tennesee. Seeing that license plate there really made me wonder why there were not more folks from Ohio, PA, and NY in attendance. Many of our Canadian friends made the drive down for the LX Nats in July, and I would think more of us would be willing to return the favor. It was nice meeting you, and thanks for parking on the vacant side of the hotel. I felt more comfortable having another HEMI sleeping next to mine.
I was fortunate to meet a few of you guys today with whom I have traded jabs on the forum, but never met in person. It was great to put some faces with screen names. Hemiphil, Token, Steve HR Hooligan, WantOne...I look forward to the next time we can get together.
I know there were others that I didn't get a chance to meet today, but that gives me a reason to come back for the next one, right?
In parting, I will leave you with my border-crossing conversation with the US Customs officer:
Me: "Good afternoon." As I hand him our passports and driver's licenses.
Him: "Where are you coming from?"
Me: "Cayuga."
Him: Looking behind me..."Why do you have tires in your back seat?"
Me: "We went to TMP for a drag race/ car show event."
Him: "What's it run?"
Me: "I went 13.14 a couple weeks ago. I was hoping to dip into the 12's today, but we got rained out."
Him: "Is it stock?"
Me: "Yeah, pretty much."
Him: Grinning, as he hands our documents back to me..."Have a good day."
Me: "They're all good!"
