    Powder coater in Southwestern ontario?

I've been looking for someone that can do powder coating (want to get my rims and grill done). I have had no luck so far as I just don't know if there is anyone that does this sort of thing...

    Anyone local have any ideas?

There's a shop that overlooks hwy 8 in Kitchener, just before it joins to 86 (the part where it's in the big ditch) that does wheel refinishing. Can't remember their name, but you might want to check them out.

Ahh... Yellow pages, search by street, how handy.

There are quite a few powder coaters around.

Unfortuantely, I never used any of them.
I do have a source for ceramic metallic coatings in Southern Ontario if anyone needs it.

I didn't even think of a rim refinisher.. shows you what I know..

I suppose when I get the grill on the 7th I will wander over there and see what they say.

I just wish I had a spare set of rims/wheels. If they need them for more than a day, I will need to probably rent a car.. bleh.

I haven't used Rim Doctor, but I was enquiring at one place and they sent me there. I went in to have a chat with them and they talked about what they do, where it works well and where it doesn't and they have samples of wheels they've coated. I don't know if it's powder coated, but since it has to hold up and they have to deal with what they do, I do believe you'll get some good feedback from them.

Just got back from Bast Tire.. Great bunch of guys.

I'm going to get them to do the powdercoating for me. I'm going to have them do my new E&G double mesh grill and my 18" RT rims. nice thing is that they are a tire place.. so I can take my car there and they will do everything for me.. take off the tires, strip off the rubber, clean and blast the rims, powdercoat, remount the rubber, rebalance and reinstall on the car..

They are going to charge me 30 dollars per wheel and 30 for the grill plus tax. they also will charge (different part of the shop) 19 bucks to take off the rubber and remount/balance. And they will use nothing but stick-on weights.. so will not have to worry about them scratching/chipping the rims once they are ready..

Will take them less than a day and apparently if I get it there in the morning, It should be ready for pickup by 3 or so.

so will have new rims and grill hopefully by our next meet-n-greet. don't know if I will put on the grill. it's been too darn cold out...

The next thing I want to do is color match the spoiler, paint the engine cover and strut covers..

man, those prices are insane!!! When I swapped rims on my corvette, with the same tires, the tire shop in atlanta charged me $380 US!!!!

Their prices really are awesome too! I couldn't even think of competing with them.

I did call them, they didn't answer the phone. and for something like this I don't want to do via voicemail.

I am looking at doing some calipers too.. haven't given that work to the other place yet.. if they can sandblast and if they aren't too expensive I could give them a shot. Figure not many could touch the price I am getting.. 30 bucks for a 18" RIM including blasting and prep..

I'm off this week.. so maybe I will just drop by and see what they say.

Sounds like you have some cool ideas... Are you changing your rim colour?

Yeah, Going with Black for the rims, red for the calipers and aluminum/silver for the brake pads (backs)

Also going with black for the dual mesh grill.. Should look pretty nice...

He's had the calipers for a week and a half now. Promissed they would be done yesterday.. no call. I called today and they are now saying next week sometime maybe. Doesn't return phone calls.. I suppose they are too busy.. Considered picking them up and taking them to the place that did my wheels.
