    the need to vent....

I recently purchased a Mygig for the Magnum. Had it shipped via DHL. It is being shipped from Edmonton to Windsor,ON. Package picked-up in Edmonton on Nov. 10th and the same parcel(my radio) went out for delivery in Edmonton on Nov. 13th....explain that??? Now the package is sitting in Winnipeg, they put it on the wrong truck or should not have come off the truck passing through(so they tell me). It will probably go out for delivery in Winnipeg tomorrow morning if they can't stop it....remember the destination is Windsor,ON!!!!! I've been dealing with the DHL reps/supervisors/tracers everyday...they still can't get it right. Now...when the radio does arrive someday...I'm sure it will be broken after being kicked around for the last week. I'm so pissed...just needed to share my story. We use DHL everyday at work and this is not their first mistake...but why this time with my radio. AAAAAARRRRGGGGGHHHH!!!!!!! No wonder why their rates are cheaper than their competitors.

Hit the nail on the head, there! DHL/LOOMIS have got to be the worst for screwing up, although they are the cheapest!! We often have goods from Brampton bound for Barrie, eind up in Regina, Calgary or some other incorrect destination. Last week , had a Brantford shipment delivered to Brockville! (Well, they both start with a "B") Blamed on the sort process!!

    Cheers CANDYAPPLE

No worries, ups is not too far behind DHL with the sh!t service and poor customer service (ups - you pay for next day express service from toronto to alberta and your package gets there withing 4 days, nedless to say its not needed anymore as we had to source it locally at a higher cost). Purolator is a bit more expensive but worth every penny IMHO. Trust me i have been shipping with them all for the past 2.5yrs..

nice to see that your radio showed up, and it must be in one piece, that's a good thing.

As someone that worked in the courier business a few years back, Purolator is not cheap, but they now have a great tracking system. I worked with guys that came over to Purolator from DHL, and some of thier stories would make your hair curl!!

Radio install was very simple and to my relief it worked perfect. This was another great Kijiji find, even though it was not local.

I've been involved in shipping for the last 8 years and this is the first time we contracted DHL to be our courier of choice. Noboby can match the rate we get from them, but you take the good with the bad at times with them. DHL actually has faster ground transit times then the competition for most places in Canada, when they are on the ball.

glad it worked out. I ordered a $60 cd rom (60 including ups shipping, tax, exchange rate, all in) and UPS charged me a $40 brokerage fee.... I'm still trying to figure out what I just paid $40 for. like 2/3 the price of the item in a brokerage fee? I'll never ship UPS again.

You just get used to that with UPS and their brokerage fees. So many American companies use UPS that there is no choice for international orders. You get lucky every once in a while and get stuff sent USPS instead. I once got a set of control arms for my truck, $900 US plus $150 shipping since it was 60 lbs or so. Then I got a nice brokerage fee of almost $200 on top of their shipping price.
