Mopar CAI and New Dyno Numbers MSRT8

I spent the evening at Autoworx and did some dyno runs both stock and with a Mopar CAI kit. Thanks Pete (AUTOWORX)!

The Mopar CAI kit was a very easy and clean install. No mods required - a`direct bolt in.

With the mopar CAI system installed nice gains were achieved. First dyno sheet is a totally stock run. The second dyno sheet is with the Mopar CAI.

My Mag picked up approx. 22 Hp and 15 ft lbs of torque at the rear wheels.

Multiple runs were done to confirm the gains with the hood both open and closed. Open hood yielded the best gains (22 Hp/15 ft lbs). With the hood closed we lost about (8Hp and 5 ft lbs).

Autoworx is going to test various installs and see if they can develop a kit that maintains these gains with the hood closed.

    Stock numbers..

    Mopar CAI added...

390 Rear Wheel Horsepower ... SWEET!!!! And better gas milage to boot.

400 Hp will be easy with a little tuning. Still running rich at the top end.

    CHEERS!

    Cool,

Looks like my Mopar CAI is worth a little more than looks and noise

Thanks for doing the work for the rest of us!

    WOW - nicely done marmaduke!!!

Are the stock numbers from the M&G a while back -- or did you do a new pull to establish a baseline on the day of the install?

The CAI graph looks like it leans the A/F out a bit (compared to mine) but I agree it still is rich.

Hemiwagn - The first Dyno is from the M&G. We did 3 additional pulls last night to back up the numbers with CAI and then the closed hood run where we saw the 8 Hp drop (hood closed and some additional Heat in the motor).

Higshemi - Actually, Autoworx has me looking at a set of Kooks headers.

I saw them install a set of Kooks headers on a stock 2005 Vette this week and if I remember correctly it picked up 65 Hp and 55 Ft lbs of torque(without being tuned). Impressed everyone...

I plan to go back this week for Autoworx wants to play with my CAI to see if they can improve it's closed hood performance.

They have a lot of projects on the go, so I will let you know when I'm going....

I've been thinking the next time I go in, I'll have something rigged up to fool the temperature sensor at WOT only, and see how that tweaks the air/fuel mixture. That with the intake change, might pull it up to over 400 hp at the wheels.

Still wonder about that bump approaching 5 grand. Seems to have smoothed out on your CAI run.

The bump at 5 grand is similar between our cars? I wonder what it could be. I suspect sooner or later someone will figure it out. I wonder if our cars have multiple timing curves/maps similar to the GM's. At WOT the computer will change between timing curves if it sees something it doesn't like?

Our cars run open loop at WOT, but there is some tweaking before WOT in the closed loop mode, that sticks around for WOT.

Can we run the 1/4 mile with the hood up?
