Exclamation Mapleview Cruise Nights this spring

For those of you in the GTA, most of you have been or heard of the cruise nights at Mapleview Mall in Burlington.

For those who havnt heard about it, its one hell of a cruise night. It is held every Wednesday night (5ish-9ish) in the parking lot at the rear of the mall, put together by the Lions Club. Its free to enter your car, and you're also given a ticket for a draw to win prizes. They also have a 50/50 draw where some nights it gets quite up there!

I beleive i read/heard somewhere that the cruise nights at Mapleview are the largest in Canada. Half the section is for pre-1979 vehicles, and the other for post-1979. On most nights theres at least 300 cars there, and I think they have capasity for around 400ish. There are a lot of clubs that show their cars together which is always cool to see. My old club did this, and its just one hell of a fun night.

I'd like to get a show of hands of those who would like to go as a group. Historically, the show starts the first Wednesday after the May 24 weekend, which coincidentally puts it on Wesnesday May 24!!! For the life of me, I cant remember when it ends, but I'm thinking its the last Wednsday in September.

Would be a great way to promote the club and show off our cars.

    Thanks,
    Adam

If you go, take lots of pictures. Sounds like a lot of fun.

The Magnum has a soul. It has a personality, something all too lacking in the automotive transportation appliances everybody else is offering.

We have been doing that for a while and was hoping to do it again this summer. not much turnout when it is really hot out though.. there is a little mopar section beyond the ricers.. we parked right in front of all the vipers.

Make sure you make time to go to Montreal with us in the spring too.. Think it's going to be a heluva good time...

    I'm in !!!!

Burlington is just down the road for me.
As Nightshade said, make sure the date doesn't conflict with the Montreal M&G.

Which reminds me, lemme know when you are going down.. I had thought it would be cool to get a bunch of us driving down at the same time.. that is bound to be a hoot.. I have a 2way radio.. but only 2 handsets. Is a long drive so would be cool to have a bunch going down the 401 in a convoy. haha

I just gotta refrain from teasing the ricers.

"How much horsepower does that type-r decal yield ya"

"Why does your exhaust have 3L of displacement when you engine has only 1.5?"

I would show up, for sure, since I live in Burlington too.

I usually go 6-8 times a year in the Formula, but now I can take the Magnum a few times too.

It is a good time. With lots of nice cars and not to much rice either.

Great to hear there is some interest. It was pointed out to me that these were done last year with the club as well.

Hopefully the interest is still there the day of, and we have at least a dozen LX's! Sure my SXT may be no R/T, but I'm sure it'll be fine for getting in. Hell they let stock J-Bodies in (my old club).

Maybe we could get some flyers printed out to put on our cars and promote the club? I can most likely print them out at work if need be.

In the other car club I was in, we all met at the Tim Hortons at Brant and the QEW and drove to the show from there. Just imagine the faces of people seeing a string of LX's driving in? We'd have to have someone already there filming us!

I've got an FRS, does anyone else? Great way to communicate on cruises. On a side note, I remember back in the late 90's when the FRS's were a few years away, a lot of us got CB radios! HAHA!.. What the hell were we thinking?!

That would definatly be very sweet to do! I think I would be up for that, as long as I can make it that week!
