    Help-need new brakes!

I went to a shop earlier this week to change over my summer tires to my winters. The mechanic called me in after he took off the tires and advised me my brakes needed replacing. Fair enough, but he stated i did not need to replace the rotors. Now my car has approximately 125000km on it. I'm no expert or anything, but should it not have the rotors replaced as well. It is starting to vibrate slowing down from highway speeds so wouldn't the rotors get changed.

Also, where could I get some parts for my car. I have a 2005 Magnum RT. Specifically looking for rotors and pads.
All wheel drive, 420hp, pure American attitude. Would not have it any other way.

Unless you're doing aggressive driving and braking, stick with the OEM parts. Have the rotors turned and replace the pads; you should be able to do most of the work yourself, except for turning the rotors. Shouldn't take more than 2 hours to do everything except the rotors which you will have to take to a brake shop.

I just had my rotors and pads replaced with OE parts. The rotors were pretty rusty and I had the annoying pulse which was coming from one damaged rotor. PM Fargo59 for a quote on parts and installation.

Look into 'R1 Concepts' for new pads and rotors. Can get all aftermarket stuff for cheaper than OEM. I changed all mine this past spring and their still great. Way better than OEM.

If your fine with the rotors and you don't experience the pulsing from the rotors, get a set of Wagner thermo quiet ceramic pads $100 +taxes and you should be stopping pretty. Just did a set of these pads on a hemi and they are excellent, no squealing and stops great on aggressive driving...just my .02cents
