Guaging interest.

There was a discussion at the recent BBQ about doing a road trip style M&G.
I had suggested heading to Ottawa for a Leafs/Sens game, but the schedule is unkind this year, first game is late November.
So let me throw out a couple of other thoughts.

I'm trying to make this a poll, so hopefully it works.

Saturday September 27th: Ottawa hosting Montreal in an exhibition game (remember, this is about the road trip/M&G not supporting either team

)...or hating both equally.
I like the idea of returning the favour of heading to Ottawa and having Fnky/Pete be at home while we head in his direction. We could head down to the parking lot right outside the arena nice and early and all park together and have M&G right there.

Saturday October 4th, Leafs hosting the Red Wings (pre-season). We could have a M&G somewhere in the GTA and then head to the game. We could head down to the parking lot right outside the arena nice and early and all park together and have M&G right there.

Sunday October 5th @ 5PM, Leafs hosting Columbus (pre-season). Again, a M&G before the game.....We could head down to the parking lot right outside the arena nice and early and all park together and have M&G right there.

Any Sunday: I was also thinking of maybe a M&G somewhere downtown Toronto and then heading to the "CN Tower 360 Restaurant". I think it's a bit pricey for a meal, but it is an option.

Just a thought... you may want to consider the day of a Bills game downtown Toronto. I'm not sure that a Toronto tailgate party would equal that of a a US city, but it could be interesting.

Hey Rab how about we find an out of the way motel where we can take over the whole place. You know what I mean one of those single level, park in front of your room kind of place. If it were up North and we went in late September we could do the fall colour cruise, then back to the motel for a BBQ and party. Just a thought.

As someone who watches a Fight on TV only to see a hockey game break out.. LOL.. The Game options aren't of much interest to be honest..

Now the Fall Colour tour sounds much like the Haliburton day tour that was held back in the spring and was a blast.. That I'm sure would raise a few more eyebrows..

This idea has merit!!! Would need to do a lot of preparation work, something like a mini Meet & Greet @ 6000'. (Maybe @ 600') Book a place far enough in advance, get commitments from attendees in the form of non refundable dposits in order to guarantee how many rooms would be required, Have a cut off date. Map out and provide a route map, determine where and what to eat/bring etc. And be sure there's some fall colour in the route.
...and before you ask, no, I do not have the time to organize it. Perhaps a team of Rab, Garry and Gord could work together? I'd be very interested, moreso than going downtown Toronto.

I will check things out for the lodgings seeing as mine is the biggest concern. After I find a place someone else can plan the route and we can all bring our portable BBQ's our own food and goodies and have a great time. Not much organizing to do. I am going to look for a place with 10-15 rooms so if you are interested show it now. First come first serve.

Since September 20th is the meet and greet in Niagara Falls, could we look at the weekend of the 27th, October 4th or if the leaves will co- operate and turn early, September 13th?

I do like the idea of a fall run. I do recall Gord mentioning something like this when they did the Haliburton run....but I may be wrong.

It wasn't so much for the hockey game, it was to give us someplace to head to (OTTAWA for fnky) with the game a secondary item.

Sept 20th is a NFalls thing?? I NEED to check that out.
The 13th is Cruisin' for a cure Canada Car Show! therefore I'd have zero interest on that date.
