I'm not buying it.
I had a modified WRX and a supercharged T-Bird, both running on 91 & 94 octane and never had an ounce of ping.
I've recently switched from the economy tune to the 91 tune and haven't detected an ounce of ping.
Maybe the additives in the Shell gas? Or maybe the station just had water in their tanks???
Ya thats what I suspected at first glance. Probably been buying his 91 Octane off an Indian reserve and not knowing its been sitting there all year. Just though I would pass on the Info.

I just switched back to the 91 octane tune tonight. I find if I buy from Esso or Shell it is better. Those two companies use the less ethanol.. Token had a list at one point and told me that Esso and shell always use the least..
Been running 91 oct since the beginning with absolute no problems, even my stage 2 STi...
