Would you buy a used Magnum?

    Hi Canadian LX brothers....

There seems to be a ton of used Mag's in western Canada for sale right now. I assume the reasons are numerous, including a high amount of fleet rental vehicles (budget, alamo, national, etc) being purchased at auctions by dealers.

With much of the Magnum being Mercedes, would you be more or less inclined to buy one of these former rental vehicles?

Price range appears to be anywhere from $22K for a SXT to $34 for an RT.

I have always leased in the past, but it seems like the lease deals on the Magnums are not that great right now

    Thanks for the input.

Caveat Emptor and all that, but I've have decent luck with 'Program' cars in the past - and if properly maintained I'd see no reason at all not to have a competant mechanic check one out.

I assume those numbers are Canadian Dollars, becuase those are new car numbers in US Dollars...

Those prices seem a bit steep I just bought a new RT 2005 for 36k
Also with 0.8 lease financing on (2005) new RTs you may do better all around to price out a new one
    cheers.

Hey wheelife....was that on the employee pricing program? I checked the Chrysler website, and they're quoting 2.3% lease rate for an SXT bought in Manitoba (where I'd be buying from)

    Thanks

Mark , I bought my SXT used from a Chrysler dealership . No issues whatsoever . Balance of warranty gave me a good piece of mind . Knowing it was maintained by a fleet ( it was a daily rental ) rather than some hit and miss yahoo made me feel even better . The money I saved made the deal even sweeter , as the depreciation on a new vehicle went from someone else's pocket and not mine . Oh yea , I also am getting free lifetime oil changes as that is the deal I got from the dealership where I bought it . So far ( 5 months ) , so good .

sxts are selling better than RTs ergo higher lease rates, I you have a dealer out there with an 05 on the lot I would sit down with them and see what they can do for you.
Sticker on my car was 42k I actually paid 36k thats a 6k savings plus 0.8 lease financing
    Also 05s have a 7/70 warranty 06s are only 3/36
This site has some very kind and helpfull people that will surely check there local dealers for you for available inventory
and motivation of the actual dealers.

Well my 05 Magnum has a 3/60 base warranty and a 5/100 power train warranty. Never heard of a 7/70 in Canada.
